I actually own one of those.

What does a golfer need a knife for? To sharpen his clubs? To open up a golf ball? Or, heaven forbid, his opponent? Nice. But no. 'Cutter' is right. 'Box' is wrong. well, number three is obviously designed to cut to a limited depth. It could be bandages, insulation, documents but there is something below that that should not be cut.

Hello: Let me see how many I can get wrong (I'm betting at least three).1) Assorted devices for starting a fire (knife to cut
shavings...sparker for flint...magnifying glass to burn ants ).2) A device that you put on your desk and use to hold a piece of
paper that you are copying (i.e. typing) to your computer.3) I have no idea. Obviously to cut something only to a certain
depth...therefore leaving what's under it uncut.

I have a tool similar to that for golfing. They use it to clean their cleats out, adjust clubs, and whatever else they might need it for.I give up on the pics.

Jar and FliesOnly have essentially solved no.3, they have just not named it. It's called a "single sheet cutter", and it's used to cut articles or pictures from newspapers and magazines, without cutting the page beneath.FliesOnly was spot-on with no.2 (see the first two photos), so he lost his bet. I say the wager was that he now has to present us with a mystery object of his own.To give some more clues for no.1, I've made another, more revealing picture of it. As a verbal clue, I will divulge that the short blunt knife-like tool is for opening something and that the forked ending of the magnifying glass is meant for dislodging something. The magnifying glass itself should tell you that we're dealing with small scale things.

Yes, but What nasty thing does it do, and why would you do it?

Being a horse person myself, I know what it's used for. But won't I be spoiling the fun for non-horse people if I tell it? (The fun being in guessing its use, not in the use itself, of course.)
