i think it would be useful to have a board-based message system. most boards do. then if we wanted to call attention to something or give someone a note about something it would be easier.

Another question
Hello.
I have been meaning to ask this question for a little while due to the fact it is perfectly inescapable. Everytime I look out of my window, or go out to the backyard, I cannot but help feel compelled to help these two trees, Chrysanthamums (sp), I think. They are afflicted with what looks like powdery mildew. White, light, and almost hair-like projections protrude from many of the leaves. It is almost as if the leaves are growing white, senior-like beards.
I believe it is caused by some sort of parasite, but not sure exactly which one.
I have heard that neem (sp?) oil may do the trick; an organic pesticide, a botannical, more specifically. Or that a specific amount of soap mixed with water and sprayed on could also be effective.
I guess what I am asking is if anyone knows what might be the cause of this affliction, and which pesticide would be the most efficacious and ecologically-friendly? Or, a reference to a knowledgable website on the matter would be equally beneficial.
Any ideas, corrections, or suggestions on this matter would be most welcomed, and I humbly thank you for your time.

POWDERY MILDEW
This disease is caused by the fungus Erysiphe cichoracearum. The leaves are covered with a whitish, ash-gray powdery growth. The spores require a very moist atmosphere in which to germinate and spread the infection.
Prevention and Treatment: Remove diseased plant material. Spray with myclobutanil (Spectracide Immunox), triadimefon (Green Light Fung-Away), propiconazole (Ferti-Lome Liquid Sytemic Fungicide or Bonide Infuse Fungicide) or thiophanate methyl (Ferti-lome Halt Fungicide, Green Light Systemic Fungicide, Cleary’s 3336, or Dragon 3336) according to instructions on the product label.

Media alert via Panda's Thumb - Coulter and Carlin on Leno tonight, and more
Source: Page not found · GitHub Pages
We have some interesting events coming up on TV and radio: two interviews that pit the wise against outrageous fools.
* Tonight (Wednesday), Jay Leno is having two special guests on his show. Ann Coulter, who is plugging her new anti-evolution, anti-freethought, anti-thought book of hate, is going to be on, and most wonderfully, with her will be George Carlin, of the famous irreverent irreligiousness and sharp, searing wit. Let's hope for fireworks.
* Friday, at 3:15 ET, on NPR's Science Friday . it's Chris Mooney, author of The Republican War on Science and advocate of good science, will be paired up with Tom Bethell, author of The Politically Incorrect Guide to Science, who most infamously said, "Darwin's theory, I believe, is on the verge of collapse . Natural selection was quietly abandoned, even by his most ardent supporters, some years ago."
These could be great fun. Tune in!

It's at 10:35 pm here in the central time zone.
I think it's at 10:30 or 10:35, or 11:30 ot 11:35 pm, depending on where you are.
Plus delays some places, because of the hockey game.

Thank you, Minne. I caught it tonight and was amazed at how she continuously advertised her conservativeness. 2 minutes into her interview and I was already like "ok, we get it, you're a conservative!!!"
Again, thanks a bunch.

Pretty bland and worthless. The Nashville music convention stuff and the singer at the end were the highlights of the show.
I had heard the Carlin stand up routine before, and he didn't have much to say beyond that. The interesting tidbits - He's 69 and has made 144 (as I recall) appearances on the Tonight Show, going way back.
Coulter didn't say much, although I wonder if having Carlin sitting next to her may have muted her. If she had said anything outrageous, the person to harpoon her was at hand.

I have posted a few of my poems and sayings here at EvC as well as a couple of other boards previous to coming here. However I have also distributed some printed copies under my own sirname previous to any forums via usernames. I assume the earlier exposure would trump the forums legally.

Buzsaw, I'm sure plagarism is against forum rules, even if the person you plagarized is yourself.
In the future, please refrain from copying ideas from yourself. It would be better if you come up with your own original ideas.
cheers cheers

AdminBrian Suspension
Hi Percy,
I would be interested in an explanation for the AdminBrian suspension.
