Also - The FSM is a satire on ID, it is not now, nor has ever been intended to be an actual divinity That's not the point. It's supposed to be comparable to the concept of God. I would now like everyone to understand that I am not a fundamentalist; in fact I do not believe in God. In fact, I am a nihilist. But due to feelings, I do not like it when people are not willing to subject their own people to the same problems that they accuse others of. As a matter of fact, the FSM is not comparable, in a reasoned sense, to God. Edited by robinrohan, : No reason given.

As a matter of fact, the FSM is not comparable, in a reasoned sense, to God. Actually, the FSM is completely comparable to many gods. It's just as ridiculous and just as silly.

robinrohan writes: Yeah, well you think I don't understand that old concept about the universe being compared to the surface of a globe? You think I'm that ignorant? Heh. I've been considered ignorant a number of times over the years for debunking that concept, but you'll get that from any science forum. That's the 2D model they've got to concoct to debate their theories about our dimensionless unbounded space universe (as per my hypothesis) and/or their own 3D bounded universe. What is it that makes the FSM possibly necessary? Satire is a tried-and-true way to humilitate and render insignificant bullshit ideas where adherents find it necessary to lie in order to preserve such ideas. See Cervantes and Swift {ABE - and Voltaire, etc.} Edited by anglagard, : forgot Voltaire.

Satire is a tried-and-true way to humilitate and render insignificant bullshit ideas where adherents find it necessary to lie in order to preserve such ideas. See Cervantes and Swift. No, this will not do. The point was that their concept was as valid as the concept of God.

No, this will not do. The point was that their concept was as valid as the concept of God. Right, and Swift really meant that Irish children should be eaten in "A Modest Proposal." It's called sustained irony. PS - I think you are purposefully playing dumb so you can whine about mistreatment later. Please correct me if I am wrong.

If that was the point, it was very weak.
The point was to show that there was just as much evidence for FSM as there was for God. But that won't do, unless you want to say that FSM is the creator, in which case you've made a trivial substitute for the word "God." And I would like to know why our "logic" experts couldn't understand this. Is it because they are biased?

What is it that makes the FSM possibly necessary? huh? What makes any god possibly necessary? Zeus, Odin, Ra, Yahweh, Santa Claus, whatever.... they are all the same

What makes any god possibly necessary? The creation of the universe.

What's the point of all this? Does it matter what you call "God"?
No, of course not. What's in a name? So what's the point of that letter?

Satire is a tried-and-true way to humilitate and render insignificant bullshit ideas where adherents find it necessary to lie in order to preserve such ideas. See Cervantes and Swift {ABE - and Voltaire, etc.} Satire is only effective when it represents the satirized ideas accurately and honestly. Otherwise it is only an excuse to humiliate and belittle. There is nothing accurate or honest about the FSM. It doesn't work as satire, it just exposes the ignorance of the would-be satirists.
