Because there is no way to distinguish the photons. These can be absorbed by particles lost in space, with new ones emitted (knocked out the other side) in their places and we would not know, but it would wreck your scheme.

I read Einstein when I was in my 20's just out of college with massive amounts of math education and natural ability (tied for 47 state wide in high school, within 99th percentile for the whole state, sim on SAT scores), and thought "what's the problem with understanding this?"

So I don't see a problem with getting started in GR and the basics. The problem is more where you go from there. And staying with it.

You have to live and breath this stuff to get anything close to familiarity.

That, I think, is where the intimidation comes in, not in the ability to understand. The willingness to climb the mountain even though you know it takes but a step at a time to get there.

Can you think of any solid reasons that we actually know there was gravity in the earth's past? Say, before Egypt. Is there any evidence it existed then?

How about that the earth existed before egypt (Could it do that without gravity)? The lack of any evidence of gravity changing? All the fossils where organisms were buried by {landslides\mudslides\lava}?

Consider this: Whenever switch 1 is used on {A} and you get a result RED ...

Then NO MATTER WHICH SWITCH you use on {B} it has a portion that MUST AGREE with A-1-RED.

Not one switch on {B} ... can avoid it the way it is set up, because the SETUP is bogus.
