I am surprised at the blatant propaganda i have been running into around the net concerning the historicity of the Catholic Inquistions.
Endless media bombast has me wondering, did the inquisitions actually occur? If so how many were put to death? Should the surrounding "secular" pagan/jewisn/arab masacres be considered actions of the church? Why are the spin doctors permitted to call those in power secular when they were clearly bound by the rule of the church?
secular ( P ) Pronunciation Key (sky-lr)
adj.
Worldly rather than spiritual.
Not specifically relating to religion or to a religious body: secular music.
Relating to or advocating secularism.
Not bound by monastic restrictions, especially not belonging to a religious order. Used of the clergy.
Occurring or observed once in an age or century.
Lasting from century to century.
