oppositional stances
Does constructively exploring a concept neccessarily require disagreement? Surely you can effectively develop an idea with someone who agrees with your fundamental outlook? Despite Ray's interpretation of JAD's thread I am specifically trying to approach the PEH as a working hypothesis and simply trying to understand what mechanisms if any there are which would be suitable to mediate semi meiosis and the sort of effects Davison's theory posits. I'm actively trying not to be oppositional. The fact that both JAD and Ray simply see the same old 'Darwinian' Vs 'antiDarwinian' debate is frankly a bit confusing to my mind. TTFN, WK

Re: For Ray and Admin: Clarification of My Position on "Showcase" Topics
What were the lessons of Bootcamp? Don't feed the trolls? Things fall apart? Too many kooks spoil the broth? TTFN, WK

Re: emerging issues with showcase format
That seems to be pretty much the form on JAD's thread as well. Except of course for the brief participation of Dave Scot where it just seemed to get personal. TTFN, WK

Showcase access revoked?
Have I lost my showcase access? I have been posting but it kept changing my ID from Wounded King to AdminWounded, I was changing it back in edit and thought it was just a bug and then I realised it might be that I didn't have posting privileges in the forum anymore. Was my access revoked? And if so is it possible to get it back so I can discuss Darwin's racism with Ray? TTFN, WK

Re: This is the strangest forum I have participated in.
Being a proflific poster doesn't equate to seniority. Randman is only registered from May 2005. The reasons are the same as for everyone else in Showcase, a perceived refusal to follow the forum guidelines. The move to showcase rather than being banned is in recognition of the fact there are some people who refuse to follow those guidelines but may still have something interesting to contribute to the debate. I have to say that the current showings in showcase would tend to belie that idea. Randman at least has some coherent and interesting ideas, perhaps the less busy environment of the showcase form will allow that to be appreciated again. TTFN, WK

Re: More concerns about this EvC forum
It's unbelievable, but the evos here see no problem with demanding that you offer up creationist theories on any thread criticizing mainstream evolutionism. I think you will find that they want alternative theories. They needn't be creationist. If you think you have a scientific hypothesis superior to the current evolutionary mainstream then you are free to present it. What people object to is a constant barrage of creationists/ ID proponents who only generate multiple arguments from incredulity about current scientific theories. They aren't offering scientific refutations of those theories based on evidence merely arguments from their own incredulity, look at Martin V and Faith's current postings on the A barrier to macroevolution & objections to it thread. In the absence of any more credible hypothesis however the current one is always going to be preferred. Simply claiming that the outcomes of these debates is because of 'evo' bias doesn't mean that you have shown it to be the case. TTFN, WK P.S. You also seem to be in 100% disagreement with Mitchell whose point was that currently evolution is the only scientific theory going and all ID and creationist speculations are purely religious or philosophical.

Re: request to post in randman's thread
I agree, bring back free for all. At least then we can all have an equal chance of being banned if the real faeces flinging kicks off. Because you know, once my dander is up I can really get quite peevish, Grrrr! TTFN, WK
