News from and about another site. http://www.creationweb.org/ The entire content is:
quote: Message for users of CreationWeb: The CreationWeb website has been maliciously dismantled. At first I thought the message board had been hacked and spent many hours trying to restore it with help from others who know about this stuff. However, sometime Fri. night or Sat. morning someone deleted all deleteable files from the server effectively killing any hopes of recovery as they also deleted the SQL database structure and data. I can only assume it was someone that had the server password from the past-someone trusted by Optional. I have seriously contemplated letting the whole site go as it takes far more time than I am willing to spend on it. However, in memory of Optional, I will set it up again with a board that has a paid support and backup service so I can free up my time and ensure a long lasting board experience. I ask all members and admins to please return and support CreationWeb. Hopefully, things will be setup in 3 or 4 days. Thanks to all who have supported CreationWeb in the past! Samuel Bollinger
I had checked the index page yesterday (I think) and found nothing. Today (2/2/03), I went to the home page and found the above quoted. Moose Added by edit: Another "CreationWeb" related topic can be found at EvC Forum: interesting new NAIG article.... At that topic's message 5, I posted the link to the informaion on Optional's death. It's unfortunate that I didn't quote the page, as it is now gone. [This message has been edited by minnemooseus, 02-02-2003] Edited by Minnemooseus, : Fixed link. For unknown reasons I had used "p=2" at the end, and there is no page 2.

Don't be too hasty, TC. It may simply be coincidence. Anyway, Robert Rapier's article has been on NAIG for a month or two. The only case of website sabotage that I have seen is Karl Crawford's efforts here last year IIRC. As far as I'm aware he was not a poster at CreationWeb. Nor am I aware of any disgruntled participants from my infrequent recent visits to the site, although I did not read many sections and it could conceivably be the result of some sor tof theological dispute.

I did not mean to suggest that Williams did it, only that he is one of only a few people with password access, and that he could have. He was, afterall, successful in getting Bollinger to remove the posts implicating him and ReMine in the ugliness that they got themselves into. True, Robert's original article had been up for some time - Williams wrote a "rebuttal" to it - but what was new, within the past few days, is Robert Rapier's response to it and my addendum. The timing seems a bit too coincidental.

Scott, keep this sort of thinking up and you'll be seeing non-random mutations in genomes and dreaming of multipurpose genomes interacting with creatons in morphogenic fields.

On second thought... Robert's addendum and my article appear on NAIG on January 31. On the night of January 31 or the morning of Feb.1, the OCW site is hacked and all files deleted. I had not previoulsy made that tight of a connection - I thought there had been more time between the articles being on NAIG and the hack. I find it hard to believe that there is no connection. Revenge of the hypocrites?
