so we have a shipwreck resting at 13,000 feet?
So these are the facts thus far, awaiting full confirmation, of course.
1. We have a site resting at over 13,000 feet.
2. It looks like wood beams that have petrified, and it has tested positive as petrified wood.
3. The authors say it looks and is shaped in an ark-like manner and is within the range of dimensions mentioned in the Bible for the Ark.
4. They speculate it is Noah's Ark.
Seems logical to me. Anyone else have a better explanation for why a large, ark-like manmade tructure is sitting, half-buried over 13,000 feet?
I suppose the best skeptical argument would be it's a structure of some kind but not a ship or ark. But what if it turns out to be shaped indeed like Noah's Ark after others review the site?

Didn't you say earlier in the thread it looked like petrified wood?
Regardless, it does look like wooden beams and has tested positive for it. That's all the facts we have now. Do you have evidence those claims are wrong?
If so, please produce them.

You have a relevant question?
personally I think another expedition is warranted, but at the same time, I don't think any amount of evidence would ever be enough to satisfy critics, such as some here.

I don't know a lot about pitch, but I imagine like any sort of binder, that it would decay over time.
Does pitch petrify?

interesting pic.....does look like wood.
Guess we'll have to wait to see what tests they did to determine it was petrified wood at the site and not shale.

Re: so we have a shipwreck resting at 13,000 feet?
You serious?
You don't think they tried to cram the wood beams as close as possible? I would think there wouldn't be too much space. The pitch is like mortar, right? As the ark would have been compressed, presumably, under rock or some such (in order to petrify), I wouldn't expect to see a lot of pitch; nor much space, but I noted in some pics, there does appear to be a slight bit of space sometimes.
I think they attribute the black coloration to the pitch, btw.

Ramoss, I am not involved and so will not take the bet. Thus far, all the facts indicate that there is a positive test for petrified wood. I suspect that is accurate, but whether this is the Ark or something else, we shall see.
