Thats just it, I think I am right but like any good scientist I know that there is some chance that my conclusions are in error.
Well, certainly. That goes without saying. But given the evidence so far, I think I'm right.

So I think I'm right about what I say but I allow for possibilities as often enough in my life new data has come to light and I have changed my mind. So "right" is a value subject to change.
Of course.

Everyone does think they are right, but most people are unwilling to entertain any notion that they could be wrong.
Except for this minority which includes you. How nice for you.

Christianity is very upbeat.
I'd prefer that it wasn't.
ABE: be more realistic that way.

Your in a unique and very unusual position Robin
That's because I'm so tolerant and so open-minded and, well,to be frank,so wonderful. Not to mention my robust joy for living.

Of course, because I didn't waste all of the money and time that others chose to, not only do I look 10 years younger than I am, I read a lot, saw a lot of great film, theater, and live music, traveled, learned a lot, ate a hell of a lot of amazing food, etc.etc.etc.
You have a tendency to boast.

How do you know it's a boast?
A boast doesn't mean an untruth. It means bragging.
But I must admit I set you up.
But you do tend to brag a bit. Why?

You have a tendancy to be rude. No, really. Is there any reason why you feel the need to be so openly insulting, all the time? Combine that with the fact that you almost never actually participate in the debate on evolution and it's not exactly clear what you're here to do, if you think everyone here is such an asshole.
Well, I was irritated by the boasting (see "boasts" thread). No, I don't think everyone here is "such an asshole." I enjoy the personalities on this forum.
Or is it just that nihilism precludes any possibility of having a positive human relationship?
Not in the least.
In regard to evolution, I accept it and so don't have a lot to say about it, not being very knowledgable about its technicalities. I'm buffaloed by the subject of genetics.

You think people expressing satisfaction with their lives is "boasting"?
Not necessarily. It depends on how it's phrased (also, perhaps, how often). If the meaning that comes through seems to be, "because of this, this, and this, I'm great," then that's boasting.

No, it's not. And it's fairly insulting of you to characterize it in that manner.
I wasn't characterizing any particular boast. I was just saying that that would constitute a boast. I don't see why you disagree with that. A boast is self-praise.

Please also consider that these kinds of effusive comments that you have noticed are almost always forced out of me.
I understand.
Sorry for being so harsh.
