Author | Topic: Where is the "leftist" media in the US? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

My criticism is that it's a blatant transparent misrepresentation of the Bible, a blasphemous denigration of God as a "warlord" told by a revisionist liberal, and it forces one to only one conclusion, which a kid has no ability to resist.

Is it a misrepresentation of the Bible ? Where does the story even mention the Bible ?

Well, if you like, let's say it doesn't bother about the BIble at all. Why should it? It's just a liberal "Christian" making up the story, who couldn't care less about the only source of knowledge of God. Just make up your own God, call him a "warlord" set up a story that makes only one action desirable, and brainwash a kid with it. You're right, it doesn't require anything about the Bible. My mistake.

Oddly enough, nwr, your idea that Bush has lied is spin, leftist spin.
Oddly enough, he lied to me. This was when I was listening to him give one of his speeches. It was before the invasion of Iraq. And it was damned clear that (a) Bush was stating falsehoods, (b) Bush has already determined to invade Iraq and was phonying up evidence to justify it.
Many of us see no lies in anything Bush has said.
Many of you are demonstrably incapable of discerning truth, as is demonstrated by your posts on the flood.
One would think that a lie would be an objective thing, but interestingly it isn't.
That Bush lied about WMD and related matters is demonstrated fact.
So all I can say is that your leftist bias is clouding your vision on this subject.
Rightist nonsense. My vision is crystal clear when I see a politician deliberately lying to the public in order to justify horrendously bad public policy. Compassionate conservatism - bringing you a kinder, gentler torture chamber

That has got to be the silliest statement you've made yet. What is your reason for thinking that Joe Wood was a "revisionist liberal?" What makes you think the story was made up? What makes you think that it denigrates GOD as opposed to portraying your parody goddlet? What makes you think a kid has no ability to resist? What makes you think there was only one possible conclusion? Edited by AdminAsgara, : No reason given. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

So is that any better then only presenting the bible as literal fact and truth and shielding the kid from outside literature? All of the information regarding criticism of bible is open to public to look at, and people look. Cept the people who need to look most are told that the open information is biased liberal goddestroying garbage that will make you unchristian. Whereas the bible is also open for everyone to see, and given free oppurtunity, people if they have never encountered the bible, never really care nor wonder about it.

The story isn't about the Bible, it's about concepts of God and how they relate to the doctrines of salvation. You see, you may think that the Bible as interpeted by a particular brand of Christian is the absolute authority on doctrine but that isn't a doctrine that defines Christianity. To think otherwise would be - in your word - naive.

npr is run the same way as far as i know, but is a real news source. the biases are different based on the different reporters. anyone who only hears a liberal bias has his head up his ass.

Ah but consider which is better, the fundamentalist who follows strict adherence to bible, which has led to hardcore racism, KKK etc. That would like to force a belief in Christ upon others?
Or a 'morally corrupt' liberal that would like to think things through prior to making decisions? And really doesn't care what other people do so long doesn't cause harm. Note: of course these aren't the only two options, but they are the most stereotyped.

Actually what was funniest about NPR, is they are equally castigated by liberals and conservatives. Apparently they get many many letters about their and unbalanced media coverage.

No, it's no better than that. Either way you've got a brainwashed kid. How Faith? How is presenting a problem, parable if you wish, and then letting the child draw their own conclusions brainwashing? What in the tale makes you think I did not question the story? Edited by AdminAsgara, : No reason given. Aslan is not a Tame Lion
