Faith writes: Would you like to start a topic that discusses how God showing us the truth would remove our ability to choose? Oh he has that power, but as long as people are warped enough not to be able to tell the difference he'd just as soon leave them to their own ways and let them hang themselves. Why would he want worshipers who haven't a choice because they've been shown the truth, but who on their own can't tell the difference between good and evil? Hey pastor! Where do we set up the Deuteronomy 23:1 inspection station?

So 'following Christ' has nothing to do with being a 'Christian'? That is exactly why I turned away from 'religion' when I was in high school... Sunday morning 'christians' are disgusting. Actions speak louder than words and if someone is to truly receive Christ, they must follow His teachings or they are insincere in their actions. I'm quite sure those are the people Christ was talking about when He said He didn't know them.
Doing unChristlike things in the name of Christianity is a slap in God's face. I know that most 'Christian' churches teach that if one 'stands up for Christ' then one is 'saved', no matter what. However I don't know of anywhere that Christ taught that one was to continue on the same path. In fact, He told the woman to "Go and sin no more." It appears that some forget those words as they claim to be 'christians'.

So 'following Christ' has nothing to do with being a 'Christian'? That's correct. The folk I mentioned are leaders in the Christian community.
Doing unChristlike things in the name of Christianity is a slap in God's face. I agree. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

The crusades have been total disgrace to Christianity.Unfortunately, those who did this were not Christians, but who assumed the name. In any case, it is a disgrace. All Christians must bear the blame. However, today wheverer you go, you only see Christian Charity. You also see violence in any part of the world done in the name of Allah (Moon)

However, today wheverer you go, you only see Christian Charity. Serbia or Ireland of a decade ago. The southern US when I was a teenager. Ann Coulter and her new book. Pat Robertson calling for assassinations. You don't get out much, do you, Inkorrekt?

However, today wheverer you go, you only see Christian Charity. You mean like the USA's current war in Iraq that has killed 10s of thousands of civilians? The one where the president said god told him to go in?

Ah yes, the 'not a true christian' arguement.
WIth that kind of arguement, there are no 'true christians' at all.

Ann Coulter is right on. But, Pat Robertson is wrong. Ann Coulter is a sarcastic writer. She only conveys the message. But, only fools will take her sarcasm literally. This is poor comparison to the Crusades. Crusades are still a disgrace upon the church. The church today has completely reversed its position. However, the crusade is still going on through Islamo fascists (Wahabi sect of Islam)but not in the church. Islam = Submission. If the infidels do not accept Islam, they will be executed according to Surah 33-35 in Koran.

Of course, we humans have exactly the same ability as God to discern the difference between Good and Evil, because Adam and Eve ate of the Tree.
So, we are able to judge God's actions, as we are "as Gods" in that ability. ...that is, if you believe a plain, common-sense reading of Genesis.

quote: So, are you saying that for the period that the Crusades were going on, all of the people who participated in them or supported them who called themselves Christian were actually lying? They were actually some other religion, or were Athiests?

Islam = Submission. If the infidels do not accept Islam, they will be executed according to Surah 33-35 in Koran I never expressed this at all. You have only assumed this. I am only quoting your Prophet. If bringing out the real meaning of Islam and its commandment regarding how Infidels are to be treated is hatred, I do not know what your definition of hatred is? .

You must have missed that bit about there being no compulsion in religion in the Quran. Nice try. Edited by Isana Kadeb, : No reason given.
