Ammonite?
In that case, I wouldn't be atheist, agnostic or believer. I'd be extinct...

Sorry but I cannot find where Ringo said he was an Agnostic or where I said anything about my beliefs in this thread.
If you are just going to assign membership on your own why ask folk to vote or select?

Perhaps.
Or perhaps the Ammonites have merely gone underground, from which locale they watch this nonsense with their incredible eyes, their ancient glittering eyes...

Swing Vote
To paraphrase one of jars favorite words, this whole thing is silly.
For the record, I am a theist.
Robin of Rohan writes:
What about agnostics? Can we throw them into the atheist camp for all practical purposes?
the way I understood it, a theist believes and is sure of their belief.
An agnostic is unsure or unconvinced yet remains open minded.
An atheist has decided that there is no God and rejects theistic absolutes and uncertainties.
So...why do the agnostics get to be in the atheist camp? They are a third category.

Okay. Now I'm going to have nightmares about Cthulhu.
Don't do that, Chiroptera.
It's an allusion to "Lapis Lazuli" by W.B. Yeats. Google it and check it out. Fine poem.

Re: This is what we've got so far: Oh Yeah?
Sorry but I cannot find where Ringo said he was an Agnostic or where I said anything about my beliefs in this thread.
You told me about two weeks ago that you are a Christian. As well, somebody said that you were discussing theology with them and because of your testimony that he was beginning to lean more towards theism. I didn't think it would matter one way or the other. Would you prefer that I remove you from the list? As far as Ringo, I will take him off the list if he requests it. Ringo stated that he was undecided. That's as close to Agnosticism as we could get. But if he has an objection, I'll remove him and you. I can place you in the "None of our buisness" bracket. Just let me know.
If you are just going to assign membership on your own why ask folk to vote or select?
You assigned yourself the day that you told me you were a Christian. Are reneging?

It seems you don't understand what a poll is.
To be included in a poll you have to indicate an opinion or preference as a part of the polling process.
What somebody says or does outside of the polling process shouldn't be used to infer what their response is.
If they don't vote they don't get counted (except in Florida possibly ).

I agree. I mean, is it true that probably most agnostics tend to lean towards an atheistic viewpoint? Perhaps. But this is not the rule, its the exception. So many of us at some point find ourselves in a spiritual limbo until we decide that there is a God or there isn't a God; therefore, agnostics should definately get their own bracket, IMO.

Alright, roger that. I will remove Jar, Ringo, Quetzel and Youko from the list.

Nonsense. I can be equally close to all four official categories. Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't. Sometimes you don't care one way or the other and sometimes you just don't want to be bothered.
As far as Ringo, I will take him off the list if he requests it.
robin voted for me - on this side of the border, that's illegal. I didn't protest because I didn't want to waste any more posts on the subject (and I don't want to see robin go to jail).
But since you bring it up: why can't I have my own category, like Dr.Jones?
You could call it "Ringo - in a class by himself".
