Thank you Percy!
I have been lurking here for a while before starting posting. Congratulations for this place.
I am agnostic and evolutionist, and an avid reader of science ever ready for learning. There are people here who really know what they're talking about.
I beg of everybody a little patience with my spelling, because I'm not very fluent in English. I tend to shorten and to compress my posts.
Thanks again.

Greetings, all! I posted twice before officially registering; as you can see from my handle, I am a Douglas Adams fan. For those of you unfamiliar with Doug and his work, read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy someday.

hi all..
for some reason i like this site..its beginning to become a post haven of onesidedness , and i would appreciate it if someone would steer me straight as how to post a new topic..i beg your pardon if i cannot spell well, i am not english,so i am trying best to type and spell in your english language...it is difficult for me to express my thoughts with so little english writting practice.Thank you for understanding also for me.
i would like at least ONE person in here to confess his loyalty to God of the cration. I have not seen any as of yet. Do i have to go to some other post to find someone to teach and back my thining and belifs ? I am saddend to find most post of the evolutionist streaming strong at this site..and i find it hard to play a circular round-about with only one or two persons whom think that their comments and post or beliefs are the only true post.. i do not mind willingness to prove others wrong. but someone decifer the word debate in english so i may also become arrogant and stiffnecked at others post..that i may become also arrogant and pointworthy to sit on the high of other evolutionist.. tho i do proclaim creation.. sorry i do not check my spelling as i am not english to do so..i have very few lessons in writting english language . thank you. please lead me down the right path.
doinker.

Hi Doinker. I am a Christian who has been into Biblical prophecy, archeology and history for about 57 years (since a kid)on my own and having only a year and a half of college, I am not highly "ejucated" so I rely on truth to be able to prevail in debate in this environment of folks, many of whom are more soooofisssssticatedly educated than I. I come here as a nubie, confident that truth shall prevail and that the "foolishness" of truth (in the eyes of the world) shall confound the ever learned looser "garbauge" of the worldly wise. So dear friend, please don't run off. Americans have a fascination with folks like you who are interested enough to cross the language barrier to communicate.

Hi True Creation. Greetings brother. I haven't checked out the town here fully, but hear we of the ideology of Biblical creationism are quite in the minority here, so we have our work cut out. As for the young earth, I have a very unique take on that which I will share later, but do believe that everything subsequent to day four of creation, including man and the animal life have about six milleniums of existence on planet earth.

Hey! Just wanted to say hello. I've been lurking for a while to get a feel for this place. I've read some great posts. I also have to say the moderating is rather refreshing compared to other CvE debate boards.

This seems to be a slapstick site for beating up on creationists, and a meeting place for atheists to discuss their faith in no god. It is incredibly slanted towards the view of evolutionism being the only truth, with the evolutionists taking the key position they are the only ones in the world who understand absolute truth. Silly, really.

SOme sad examples I've noticed from my recent lurking:

1. Abiogenesis is not allowed to be discussed as part of evolution even though this site is defined as evolution against creation.

2. The admin people here are not at all impartial and violate the forum guidelines themselves by posting under two names at the same time; one as a bully admin, the other as a prejudiced evolutionist.

3. No one is changing sides, so why this site even exists to engage in feigned debate is perhaps the biggest joke for the objective observer to enjoy.

4. What may be even funnier, however, is how stupid you all look arguing ad infinitum about irrelevant issues!!!

GET A LIFE PEOPLE!!!!

Actually there is a considerable section of this board which features lively debate amongst theists and with atheists and agnostics. Check out the Faith and Belief and the Bible: Accuracy and Inerrancy forums.

It might be silly were it true. There are very active creationists here who debate very robustly with evolutionists, and some of the most vigorous debates are between evoluitionists on aspects of evolutionary theory.

Actually the reason we so often keep abiogenesis and evolution separate here is becuase we have such a wide range of opinions. Some participants, salty is an obvious example, regard abiogenesis as a ludicrous impossibility, but are quite convinced that evolution has occurred. It's generally easier to the keep the topics clarified.

One of the pleasures on this board is being able to participate in discussion. I for one have a pretty strong public service ethic, but it doesn't extend to moderating others discussions on the internet out of the goodness of my heart. I enjoy participating in the debates. However, I attempt to be as impartial in my moderating role as possible. I'm sure I fail sometimes, which is why our admins are drawn from a range of background opinions. The only email of complaint I have received about my moderation was from an evolutionist who thought I was being unfair on him, compared to the creationist with whom he was debating.

Hang around - if you are open to free unbiased inquiry maybe you will change your side on some issues. Do you think that is possible?

And, in fact, we regularly do see people change their stance. Not necessarily radically from camp to another, but there have been many occasions where people on both sides have realised that the arguments or evidences they have used have been mistaken. Flick throough the archived messages and you will find examples.

Interesting that you claim to read an "irrelevant" forum in sufficient depth to be able to make detailed comments on its ongoing policies. I'm sure you couldn't be the kind of immature, shallow and ill-educated lurker who would jump to conclusions from only a cursory view, so I must conclude that you have lurked here for long enough to reach a considered conclusion. But then one wonders why you would bother to spend time reading a forum on a topic you believe to be "irrelevant." The phrase "get a life" certainly does come to mind.

Is it appropriate to insult while posting in the Admin mode?

I thought the purpose of being an Admin was to gently guide those who are being verbally abusive (insulting) back to being more respectful pursuant to the guidelines.

Some example you are setting by being a Jackazz and a Sorryazz administrater.

That you demonstrate uncommon hypocrisy was my point about how stupid you sound.

Indeed, GET A LIFE!

In AdminPamboli's defense, he was only responding to your direct insults to himself and all of us here by gently turning them back onto you.

Basically your whining amounts to "Wah, mom, he hit me back!" If you're too sensitive to be insulted, why don't you be less insulting?

In my experience, which is short but surely longer than yours, he's a great admin. Honestly if we've somehow lost your patronship because we don't roll over at the first sign of creationist illogic, who needs you? Go over to Terry's TalkOrigins board and you'll have all the creationists you want stroking each other's egos. Of course that's because they kick out evolutionists for the slightest insinuation that creationism isn't even science.

Hang around here, though, and maybe you'll find out how creationist figures like Kent Hovind and Phillip Johnson are using you as pawns. Now's your chance to show us if your handle is "inquisitor" as in "seeking the truth through questioning" or "inquisitor" as in "enforcing adherance to my personal belief system through bullying." It's up to you.

The admins here are neither potted plants nor the targets for dunk-a-chump carnival games, and rather than insulting you AdminPamboli was merely responding in kind while pointing out the rather obvious irony in your Message 11. After all, it was you who told us how stupid we all look, and who termed the issues discussed here "irrelevant", and who told others to "GET A LIFE". Given this introduction, just how polite did you expect the responses to be?

There are two evolutionist and two Creationist admins here at present.
