Re: So terribly sorry to have put you in such a position
There's an old saying, maybe someone remembers the origin and precise wording, that enemies often come to resemble each other. If you adopt the strategies of those you oppose are you any different?

Re: So terribly sorry to have put you in such a position
Yes, because I am not adopting salty's and Ilion's tactics. Terry seems to be trying to produce some sort of self-fulfilling prophecy.
He continues to characterize all of my posts as insulting even when they are not.
It is a common creationist tactic.

Re: So terribly sorry to have put you in such a position
Scott, you might be surprised what Terry finds insulting to creationism and creationists. Check with Joe Meert or read some of the earlier messages of this thread which describe some posters' experiences at Terry's board. Strangely, creationists seem to enjoy much more latitude in their comments on evolution and its supporters at Terry's haven. And he is particularly blind to such inconsistency.

Indeed - and he is now describing my pointing out of facts as insults as well... Afterall, facts are, I suppose, offensive to creationuts...

There has been another recent banning (and unbanning) of one of the evolution side, at Terry's Talk Origins. While Terry may indeed sometimes have justification, I see this most recent one as being unjustified (the Joe Meert type situation).
I wanted to bump this topic, but I don't have time to get the specifics up right now. Will get such up later.
Cheers,
Moose

quit
I have had quite enough of the antics there - particularly by 'Don' and 'salty'.
I resigned my membership. Now they can go back to giving virtual back-pats to each other fopr proving YECism....
Apparently, salty is upset that nobody here is bowing down to his Grasse/Huxley/Broom allusions, and ran back to TalkOrigins and posted this:
quote:
I'm sorry now that I was demoted. SLP is nothing but a malcontent and a troublemaker. He contributes absolutely nothing of substance to this forum. I am sick of his complete intolerance to anything that does not conform to his own private convictions. salty
So, I responded with this:
You have continually made such baseless assertions against me, yet they are devoid of substance. At no point have I exhibited "intolerance" - that is pure fabrication. Taking offense at your many and repeated insults directed at those that do not bow down to your self-aggrandizement is not intolerance. Ignoring your empty rhetoric and your refusals to read the postys of others is not intolerance.
Responding to insults directed at me without provocation is not an indication of me being a "troublemaker."
I think that you are just upset because the "kiddies" at EvC has devastated your manifesto and your 'hypothesis' without even really trying. That is not 'troublemaking,' malcontent, or intolerance. You have been completely unable to address issues of substance and there, like here, you are content to spew content-free one liners or lengthy 'I'm just like Grasse and DeWaal agrees with me, so I must be right' nonsense. Unfortunately, unlike here, that doesn't fly at EvC.
Or are you upset that you can't ban me because I am not getting "inflamed" at your constant badgering?
Too bad.
I will do it for you. I resign my membership to this group. The only malcontents I see are those that post here on the "anti-Darwinist" side.

Gerald McGrew banning
See messages 22, 24, and 25 here
Also see the entire topic for the entire context. I believe that Gerald McGrew only posted in that one topic.
I don't recall where I saw the info, but I believe Gerald was later unbanned.

The Neanderthal Man topic there
I happened to bother to check in, and found that the topic had (IMO) turned interesting.
See Kurt's input, starting at about message 47 of the current 59.
Here's where to find the topic. This will probably not get you to the precise page - It doesn't seem possible to do such a link at that board.

Re: Terry the Beggar
Don't get too worked up, Brian. It's a joke.
However most of the humour on that board is unintended, based around the mental contortions which the creationists perform to fit any data into their theology.

Too ignorant to recognize his ignorance?
OK, I've just posted message 9 at the Evidence for rapid geological formations topic, at Terry's Talk Origins.
In consisted of:
quote:
This concerns both this topic, and the recent 3.somthing billion year old volcanics topic, and probably, in general, any geology topic at this site.
Terry, I have a BS degree in geology, much of which I have long forgotten.
I do, however, have enough geological knowledge to know how geologically ignorant I am.
Such is not the case for you.
Cheers,
Moose
Let's see if this gets me banned.

I'm curious - when I lurk through Terry's boards I see a lot of well-reasoned posts from "The Great Society" - does he post here under a different name? He seems like the type that would hang out here as well.
Just curious...
