Does that mean that this topic should really focus on mutation rates in sex cells only, or am I not understanding something properly?
As far as I understand the subject matter it’s of no importance what cell type we discuss. The percentage of base pair mutations are of the same order in all. But in Darwinian terms it’s of cause only sex cells that, in higher organisms, give rise to mutations that can be the basis for selection.
