I had this dream sometime between the ages of 3 and 5.
I walked out to the driveway, climbed into the driver's seat of my parents car and shut the door. The car started.
I pulled out of the driveway and into the street. The car began moving down the road. My parents exploded from the front door of the house, frantically waving their arms as I left them behind. I passed the houses in my neighborhood, then passed the billboard that stood at the entrance (the image was a pair of eyes).
The car accelerated though town. At first the buildings were familiar. Soon I was zooming past buildings I had never seen before. The car kept going faster. I didn't know how to stop it. I did my best to steer.
Soon I was out of the city, racing through the countryside, far from everything I knew. The car hurtled faster and faster down the road with each passing mile.
