Let's see. The choice seems to be between a place with interminable harp muzak piped in, and a place where one gets to sit around the camp fire and talk with one's buddies.
It would probably be my bad luck to be stuck with the muzak system. Boring.

Compassionate conservatism - bringing you a kinder, gentler torture chamber

Re: This is scary stuff...
Manson, Hitler and Osama are followers of the evil one.
How can you be sure that you, and other creationists, are not followers of the evil one?

Re: This is scary stuff...
The thing that most amazes me about the general discussion at EvC between Biblical creationists and everybody else, is the evil that is imputed to us and to God.
Then you are misreading.
I don't say anybody imputing evil to you or to God. Rather, I see people pointing out that your own beliefs impute evil to God.
I'm not sure why you cannot see that.

Re: This is scary stuff...
I believe most of what I've given as my beliefs are true to the Biblical portrait of God. So if you say my beliefs impute evil to God, that's the same as you saying God is evil.
No, it isn't the same at all.
It is the same as saying that you are a fallible human, with mistaken beliefs.
You might not realize this about yourself, but you seem to have appointed yourself omniscient. You write as if you are a spokesman for an omniscient God, and since you speak for him you must yourself be omniscient.
Oops, we are drifting off-topic.

Yes. But you only listen to those who agree with you, and those are the only ones you consider brothers and sisters in Christ. So it comes to the same thing.

Re: This is scary stuff...
I RECOGNIZE that we share a common understanding that makes us members of the Bible-believing Christian fraternity.
You can be Bible believing, without believing that everything in the Bible is the word of God. Maybe some Israelis did horrible things, and credited those to God in order to absolve their own consciences. And perhaps that is what was recorded in parts of the old testament. That's very consistent with typical human behavior, so why would you suppose that is not what happened?
