Very similar - although it was others who saw faces and the like (usually under not nice circumstances). If you went wild on them then it was la-la land like you say. Like someone took a blowtorch to the world and melted it.
I preferred it softer - it meant we could go out for a pint. And I mean a pint. You'd sit in the pub nursing one pint for the whole evening looking at all the melted faces go by. Edited by iano, : No reason given.

The point is, Faith, that the brain doesn't need LSD to manufacture strange, odd, or completely false sensations, perceptions, and conclusions.
It does that, all by itself, every day.

strange, odd, or completely false sensations, perceptions, and conclusions. It does that, all by itself, every day. All the more reason not to trust it or that of any other person. It would be like asking a fellow LSD taker "Is that melted face real" If he says yes (maaan) then you have empirical proof. If he doesn't then it doesn't mean it isn't (or is...oh: you get the point) Edited by iano, : No reason given.

I understand Mark Foley's copy is unreadable. He never uses a bookmark to hold his place. He just bends over a page. That's brilliant.

If your way is supposed to be morally so much better, then why does it seem to produce so very many scandals involving, frankly, despicable moral behavior?
It's the constant supposed "God-endorsed" condemnation and judgement of others that I simply cannot abide, Faith. You are filled with compassion for this meth-snorting, gay prostitute-visiting, adultereous hypocrite, but you have the hardest of hearts for nearly everyone else if they do not share your right-wing Christian beliefs. Do you think that you social conservatives will ever learn the lesson of "There but by the grace of God, go I"?

Thing is, oh prettiest one, we all hold up a front behind which we hide our stuff.
Sure. Now that we have that established.
But I don't try to make everybody else abide by a moral code, under force of law. We must suppose that there can be no lawmakers given that everyone hides stuff behind a front. The only lawmakers we can have are those who do not: - speed in their vehicles- drink and drive - hit their wives/husbands - take meth/coke/herion/hash/lsd/mushroom/crack/drink - shoplift - default on mortgages - dodge their taxes - pour thinners down the sink etc.etc.etc... ...you see the extent of the problem when it comes to recruiting lawmakers don't you. No ones perfect. The fact that a lawyer might know his client killed the guy doesn't mean his job is not to defend the guy as best he can. Try and differentiate between job and man will ya. By the way: the most shameful thing that you have ever done in your life? What was that? Edited by iano, : No reason given.

I inhaled and swallowed all the illegal dope that came my way, but fortunately it didn't agree with me. Three increasingly strong LSD trips and I wasn't having any more of THAT. Marijuana gives me nausea. I guess it cures it for some, to me it does the opposite. By the time I got through all that I wasn't even going to *think* about cocaine. But I wasn't a Christian so I made no effort to avoid temptation. Now I work hard against temptation, and still sometimes it trips me up. You know, I've done everything from coke to LSD. I've also solicited sex from prostitutes on numerous occasions. Pretty bad stuff. Of course, that was all in my past and prior to meeting my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Nonetheless, we all do stupid stuff and we sometimes feel the twinge of compulsion to repeat past mistakes. That's normal. And I think everyone can understand that inner-struggle. What people find insuperable, as well as they should, is the people who place themselves on a holier-than-thou totem, all the while engaging in the very sins they denounce. We all slip, we all fall, we all fall short. But Haggard not only made himself look awful for being an incredible hypocrite, but he disgraced his family, he disgraced the members of his church, he disgraced the entire Body of Christ, and disgraced Jesus. There is forgiveness for Haggard, but he'd first better recognize the trail of destruction behind him. Edited by nemesis_juggernaut, : No reason given. The personal testimony of any single person is not testable evidence. No its not. But Faith and me and millions of others testify. The testimony of millions doesn't count either I take it. They testify you are blind. But the blind testify they are not. On and on it goes...

Find me a lawmaker who admits to meth/coke/child molesting prior to him/her going about establishing laws A person can know (and legislate against) a wrong whilst engaging in the wrong themselves. Who doesn't see something awful inside themselves that they see the need for legislation against - even if it means legislating against their own behaviour
I voted for a Republican once. You and I know that that is not the most shameful thing you have done. C'mon Schraf... fess up. The thing that you are most ashamed of.

What people find insuperable, as well as they should, is the people who place themselves on a holier-than-though totem, all the while engaging in the very sins they denounce. Do you find it insuperable? For if you do... Earlier you correctly saw the root of all sin as pride. You denounce pride here. Do you engage in it yourself (ie: do you sin)?

quote: You know, I've never done any of that crazy, self-destructive, dangerous shit that you, Iano, and Faith did. I've never smoked tobacco, nor pot, and I've never even had a hangover. Never had unprotected sex (Really. Not ever, not even once), waited until I was in love and in a long-term relationship to engage in sex. Never saw the need to or attraction of endangering myself. I can certainly understand why all of you might be attracted to some kind of an imposition of a strict moral code if you were dissatisfied with the paths your lives had taken. I can also readily imagine the attraction of the idea of having all of your past debauchery expunged from the records, so to speak. All of you social conservatives, wagging your fingers at the rest of us, lecturing us on the proper way to live, and yet you three seem to have already done more wild, illegal stuff than all of my supposedly "loose-moraled liberal" friends and aquaintences put together.
