Why are humans the only really intelligent beings on the planet Earth capable of creating citys, technology, etc.
(please dont say that chimps, apes, dolphins, parrots, dogs, cats, etc are intelligent. Because yes they are very smart, but im talking about a very highly developed language, very highly developed tools, math, science, etc. Because yes i know that dolphins can communicate with their sonar and chimps can learn a few hundred words in sign language and parrots can learn a few hundred words, but im talkin about a highly developed language such as english. And i know that chimps can use twigs to stick in ant piles, and leafs to soak up water, but im talkin about sophisticated tools. And please dont say that they would never need math or science to survive, but if you use that logic and you belive in evolution then you would relize that humans do not need math or science to survie and catch food it just helps and makes life easier. If animals could use math and science then they would have developed it just like humans did.

Once again you are already discussing this topic on another thread. It would really help if you broke your posts up a bit, at the moment they just look like solid blocks of text. Some paragraphing might help.
If you want to keep developing this into an OP we can, if so perhaps you sould try and close down that thread of the discussion on the ID/Creationism thread and let people know you are going to have your own thread on the issue.
Let me know if you want to pursue this further.
TTFN,
AW

Perhaps a "great debate"?
NYCBoy, if you want to discuss these things in open threads you will be jumped on by 5 or 10 posters an hour. It will be very difficult for you to keep up.
You might want to ask if it can be a "great debate" -- that doesn't mean anything fancy just that it is limited to two people. You could choose the other person or, if you wanted to, allow a small number to join you. This might make it a bit easier for you.
You do, indeed, have a lot to learn. That's good news if you recognize it.

Re: yes plz
Well you are on the right track. The procedure here is that you post a proposed new topic, as you have just done, which is then vetted by one of the admins.
The admins can reject your topic and close the thread, promote the thread and place it in an appropriate forum, or if the opening post has some potential but is not well formulate the admin may enter inot a dialogue with the member proposing the thread to come to an opening post which seems promising.
In this case I think you have a reasonable question to ask but your OP is pretty undeveloped.
As AdminNosy suggests you might be prone, as a new creationist poster to be subjct to what is colloquially know as a 'dogpile', one way to get around this is to choose to take part in a one on one great debate rather than a generally open thread.
TTFN,
AW

Or a Mentor
Well, since we haven't a clue what it is you believe, that is hard to answer. But we can try to help you.
So far the problem is that you have proposed a whole bunch of threads that have no real focus. In addition your replies in other threads have been off topic.
A Great Debate format was recommended to you up thread. I would like to suggest another possibility, and that is a mentoring thread. In it you would be paired with one of our more experienced posters. The two of you could hold a conversation without a dozen folk jumping all over you at once.
If that sounds interesting, reply to this message with a short paragraph on where you would like to start. You really need some of the very basics, so I suggest trying to stick initially to a very specific question. For example, why is there only one technological critter here on earth.
Let us know how you want to proceed.

    idk?
I just want my own thread to discuss things, because i dont want to keep gettin off topic on other ppls threads. i dont know which would be better a great debate or a mentor thread. Can 1 of yall choose which 1 would be best for me and start it up with the question about there being only one intelligent critter on the planet.
i would also perfer if more than one person could debat with me

That was my thought sort of Jar. Just put it away in a GD thread to help remind ppl not to jump in.

    Re: idk?
Okay. I will set it up. I will try to pair you with two of our members. One has already volunteered. He is a young gentleman from England, a Christian who also struggled with the Theory of Evolution and his faith.
His Handle is Mike the Wiz.
I will also get one of our science folk to join in to provide the factual details as needed.
It will take a day or so to get this set up so please hang in there.

Hi NYC boy. Welcome to EvC. I'm an IDist creationist moderator here. I'm not sure how much I would support your position, but if you do science here you'll need to be pretty much on your own and note that in the science forums little support will come from creationists as ID and creationism is not regarded as science here so you may want to read up to see how far you can go here in science topics before embarking on your own thread. If you have problems so far as moderating, feel free to take them to the moderations proceedures thread.
My suggestion is that you participate in some ongoing threads before doing one on your own.

    Re: idk?
Okay. Here is the set up. I will pair you with NosyNed, Mike The Wiz and place it in our Great Debate section. I will act as a moderator and facilitator.
The beginning subject will be on why there is only one technological critter here on earth.
I will have it set up for you by tommorrow.

No, you cannot use a picture off the internet. You can though upload one that is on your computer. You do that in your profile, at the bottom, add avatar.
