Everyone loves to spit and mock the poor fool who dares to carry his cross.
Do what you have to do... I don't need to point fingers Archer... I have a mirror. I wish everyone the best in their journey whereever they are. But if it makes you feel better... I mean if ugliness is your absolute with which to judge yourself and your friends as superior, I cannot argue the point. You are better that a lot of people. In fact, we're all good people compared to Hitler. And we celebrated his demise. Gave ourselves a good pat on the back! But if we compare ourselves to Christ. If we compare ourselves to utter righteousness, then what are we? Suddenly we're all equal!

For the record, I am not suggesting that mr. Haggard get a slap on the wrist. He should face the full penalty under law, for any crimes he is convicted for.

Not at all, schraf. I'm just one of the--how does one say in Iano's piquant prose?--sickest of repulsive psychos with barely pardonable (and I do say it with extreme difficulty) black souls who utter the blackest, most ugly statements bar none that bring sin to the yellow, pus-filled surface that allows us all to see sin for what it is.
Unless I convert to fundamentalism. Then the same stuff happens, but it's no big deal. ___ Edited by Archer Opterix, : wink. Archer All species are transitional.

Similarly, it is wrong for you to say that there are "laws of morality" unless you can provide examples of what they are. Are you using a code that does not exist to tell me I am wrong? How about those examples of "laws of morality"? By not answering your question in the terms you require for belief in the subject in question, am I guilty of anything immoral? You have provided the answer to your own question. "Can a mortal ask questions which God finds unanswerable? Quite easily, I should think. All nonsense questions are unanswerable."(C. S. Lewis) "God must know, better than anyone, how unfulfilling it is to be right, until it can be shared, with a community willing to accept it, and enjoy the glory of it."(Rob Lockett)

Do you consider evasion immoral?
It doesn't matter what I believe, your the one who doesn't believe in morality. If it doesn't exist objectively (like the sun and moon), my belief changes nothing. Tell me evasion is not immoral, and I'll admit nothing. Tell me it is, and I'll agree with you.
For the benefit of our fans who enjoy verbosity, how about answering it in your own words? I always use my own words. And as the moderation rules suggest, I support them with documentation and references. The ideas I wield however... the weapons if you will, are, I freely admit (for the sake of honesty... a moral concept) precede me by thousands of years. Your not arguing with me Ringo, you're arguing with your creator. And you are being evasive. I'm just a stupid messenger. Rob writes: It doesn't matter what I believe, your the one who doesn't believe in morality. I didn't say that. Pay attention. I said there are no "laws of morality" unless you can demonstrate that there are.So far, you have not done so. The topic would seem to be about the hypocrisy of fundamentalists in dealing with immorality among their own. Kindly demonstrate the "laws of morality", specifically how they apply to Ted Haggard and the Christian Right's reaction to his "peccadillos".

The topic would seem to be about the hypocrisy of fundamentalists in dealing with immorality among their own. Are fundamentalists denying that he has acted immorally? And are you saying hypocrisy is wrong? By what laws to you infer that that is wrong? Do you know anyone who is not a hypocrite? I can give two examples of men who are not hypocrites... 1. Jesus 2. Charles Manson
I didn't say that. Pay attention. No! No! 'Six minute Abs'! I'm sorry Ringo, maybe i aught to just let you out here. But I saw the movie, so I'll stay in the car. haggard has brought enough suspiscion already! Wow I did not know that god was posting here. Trust me... He's not suprised! Luke 23: 32 Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. 33 When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him, along with the criminals--one on his right, the other on his left. 34 Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.
