Genesis 1 and 2 - Contradictory?

didn't we just have this discussion with conspritor concerning sequencial order

mister pamboliwhy is it that christians jump back and forth between interpreting the bible literaly,symbolic,and metaphysical to dispell the accusation of it being contradictory?so when the bible says that cain killed able...you take it no other way but literal...because it contains no ambigituity...just like the bible says that adam was created first...it is the same streight forward english...but because and contradiction can be shown...you want to change horses in mid stream..just for the fact of the bible not being wrong..well mister pamboli...YOU ARE BEING INTELLECTUALY DISHONEST.........answer me this...are we to take jesus being nailed to a cross (cruxified) in the literal sense or symbolic?(i'm asking you a question)[This message has been edited by ME2, 04-03-2003]

no...i'm not...when the bible says that cain killed able...i take it as such..so what else am i to conclude..it is simple english...not hebrew..and the reason i asked you about jumping back and forth or ...how did you say it "performing these intellectual calisthenics" is because you did it..and the bible (since you want to play) is not written in hebrew..it is in english...that is how i and many other english speaking people that don't read hebrew are able to read it.. (just wanted to get that streight)but thanks for answering my question about jesus being cruxified...
i only wanted you to tell me that you took the act in the literal sense so i could pin you down...and now that i haveacts chapter 5 verse 30...it says that he was hanged from a tree.(no contexual,symbolic,or metaphysical meanings to hide behind...only the literal)it is two different accounts of how jesus died..and yes...i have reached an conclusion that this is a contrdiction...

yes we are...it was just some excess baggage that i see now that i have for other posters (not on this board) that have came up with some wild explanations to explain away these contradictons..
some that would make even jesus do a double take..and i have to admit..i was over taken by tunnel vision..and all i saw was "bible" and contradictions" and something snapped..but it nice to see you kept a level head and just waited for the light to come onand it did...and didn't i feel foolish in having miss-read your post..

excuse me...but can you point out my hostility?because i don't believe i was...so do me an favor and point to the parts of my post that are hostile..i feel that if you post an topic of make and statement saying that the bible has no contradictions..well you have to expect someone to disagree with you..isn't this how these boards work...?you did exactly this...you created and thread stating just what i said..and was arrogant and evasive to all that responded to you...but forget all of that...please show me where i'm showing "hate" and "hostility"i simple mis-read his post and respond to what i thought he was saying...and when i found out that i was wrong...i apologizedan in terms of being open minded...i am..but it is you christians that are not...are some of you so "thin skined" that any objection to your post is looked upon as being hostile and closed minded?
