Miracle or whopper
Well, we are informed that 37 churches in France and Spain have Jesus` foreskin. Since churches never lie, either we are facing the first self-replicating foreskin, or Jesus had the biggest aspidistra in history.

Re: Miracle or whopper
Don't mind the foreskin stuff. It is not the topic.
Well, if you don`t think a foreskin expanding into 37 RC churches is a 'miracle', I don`t know what would qualify. Of course, if there`s the slightest chance the RC churches are lying about the Holy Prepuce, isn`t it conceivable (indirect pun) there could be a teeny-weeny chance they are lying about the providential preservation of the Saints?

Re: Miracle or whopper
Well, if you want to show me that the Jesw had a custom of saving foreskins and labeling them, and that all of the 37 you mentioned actually exist and have been examined, and that perhaps the DNA for each is identical, I will think about the possibility of a miracle.
Who said the Jews had a custom? The topic is about miracles and Saints. If you want to argue the toss of the non-existence of separate foreskins, I suggest you take it up with the Catholics of Calcata, Aix-la-Chapelle,Le-Ruy-en-Velay, Coulombs, Anvers, Besancon, Antwerp, Charroux, Santiago de Compostela, Chartres, Metz, Hildesheim, Conques, Fecamp, Langres and not one, but two, churches in Auvergne. The rest of the 37 are available via Google. Do your own DNA tests.

Re: The Answer's in Anastasia
God does new things all the time in the Bible, because people love to try and keep Him or put Him in a box, but He is not containable.
I thought they were scribal errors? :-p

Well, He knocked off and slaughtered someone else`s pigs for openers.

Re: The Answer's in Anastasia
2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Two problems.
Who determines which are Scriptures?
'Useful' doesn`t mean infallible in any dictionary I consulted. Care to name one?

Re: The Answer's in Anastasia
Sorry, Rob, won`t wash. Been there, done that. Once the scales fall from your eyes, you will wonder why you ever believed the dogma you do. The whole system is predicated on circular reasoning and falls apart once you see the flaws. Maybe God inspired the Scriptures. Man changed the Scriptures. No one knows what the originals were or if they ever existed. Christians continue bitter internecine warfare because they can`t agree on what goes where. Clean up your own act before you challenge infidels.

Re: miraculous disbelief
One final comment, Rob, as we are getting far off topic and Admins have limited patience (and resources).
It doesn`t matter what religion or 'isms' you believe in, you will never convince fellow debaters if you keep quoting endlessly from your doctrine. No amount of Scriptures, from whatever source, cut the slightest ice with someone who doesn`t believe your dogma. So quoting the Bible continually is a waste of time and bandwidth. Try to stand outside your religion for a while and use reasoning on a human level, not a religious one. You can still make points and explain yourself without descending to a poster boy for what someone may or may not have said millenia ago. You can raise Scriptural issues without a lengthy broadside of quotations that I just skip over. A presentation of a thought should be to the point, not endless waffle. Try it.

Re: Topic
Hi, Jar, the numbers always fascinate me.
Five hundred people die when a ferry sinks--one is saved--it`s a miracle.
A variety of cases pronounced terminal with a disease--most die, one, two saved-it`s a miracle.
Farmers almost wiped out by drought, fire, floods. One or more survive by various means--it`s a miracle.
Latest case in my hometown saw a Vietnamese priest selling statues of the Virgin Mary and Child with blood weeping from their eyes--it`s a miracle. Selling like hot cakes as fast as he can import them.
Maybe there should be a tighter definition of 'miracle'.
