A snowflake follows rules of form according to atomic structure of water.
And which form is determined by environment.
Indeed. I recently watched a program on snowflakes in which it was discussed how things like humidity and temperature dictate which final form a snowflake will take. I'm sure KBC will accept this, yet will insist that such simple 'rules' cannot possibly play a role in biology, since all things are "programmed"...
By the way - KBC has tried this exact same argument here and probably at ISCID and who knows where else.

Yeah - and you'll notice he is pretty scarce over there...
Probably licking his wounds at ISCID with some like-minded anti-reality types... like Peter Borger...

Re: GIGO
KBC:
quote:
To say those three are the same is not true. I make 3 dimensional models and I have modeled many items that have similar appearing forms and they are not coded the same. Each of these bones is distinctly and spacially different just as the parts on a model car differ from a real car. To assert what you have is to overlook a huge mechanical and coding difference.
Perhaps it would make this discussion more reasonable if the engineer anti-evolution types would finally realize that DNA does not work exactly like computer code does...
I know, that is a stretch, but it would rezally make thier claims a little less.... Silly and irrelevant.

Don't mean to pile on, but I just came across this post from KBC on another forum.
He approvingly cites the 'bombadier beetle' argument, for crying out loud!
Take home message - be very wary of folks arguing against evolution who claim not to be creationists...

Re: Er .. let me get this straight ...
Don't expect any sort of rational response from KBC. He is a mechancial engineer, and a creationist - two great characteristics that make one's claims on any subject beyond reproach.

Pretty broad brush there.
KBC's last post was 10-24-2006 11:37 PM and this is the ONLY thread he posted on.
The broad brush is justified in KBCs case:
quote:
There are many specific items in this wide world that none of us know off hand however, being intelligent and a mechanical engineer allows me to solve such problems. An intelligent mechanical engineer can research the required specifics and understand how to use it. Thus biology and its concepts are only a bit of research for an engineer.
