Phat writes: If God could speak through a donkey.... Get your prepositions straight. There's a difference between talking "through" a donkey and talking "to" a donkey. iceage writes: I always liked the silent church before any service begins. I used to be the caretaker of a Roman Catholic cum Anglican chapel. I never once attended a service, but I always said it was one of my favourite buildings to be in.
It could be that it reminds me of the cathedrals of towering overstory old growth forests that I have stood in before. I've been there too. It is a very similar feeling. The problem with anti-pantheists is that they can't reconcile "God is everywhere" with "God is everywhere". Help scientific research in your spare time. No cost. No obligation. anastasia writes: Why do you have to choose where to find God...church or nature? Well, you don't. That was my point. If God is everywhere, you don't need a building to commune with Him. Nor do you need people with similar beliefs. Those things are nice too, but don't confuse communing with God and communing alongside your fellow man. Don't raise the edifice we built above the edifice He built.
... when I am done in nature I have no problem going into a building to pray. Hmm.... It occurs to me that a lot of those old cathedrals were shielded with lead. Help scientific research in your spare time. No cost. No obligation. Join the World Community Grid with Team EvC

Phat writes: The issue is "God is everything". God is one thing. God created all things. (directly or indirectly) God is not everything. I'm not following your math there. If "God is one thing" and "God created all things", then God created God? And you haven't explained how "God is everywhere" differs from "God is eveything". "Everywhere" implies in eveything, doesn't it? Help scientific research in your spare time. No cost. No obligation. Join the World Community Grid with Team EvC

Phat writes: If it were any other way, none of us would ever sin for it would be like cheating on our wife...so intimate is His presence! Another Christian who doesn't understand what sin is? How do you define "cheating" on your wife? Is "cheating" on your wife the only way you can hurt her? Does the "intimacy" of having her around all the time prevent you from stepping on her toes once in a while? You are more likely to "step on God's toes" if He is always "under foot" - i.e if His presence is pervasive. Your analogy seems to suggest that only those "married to God" can sin.
I see no need for a Creator to be in His creation any more than I see the need (or ability) of myself to be in the computer images of my written thoughts. Of course, you are in the computer images of your written thoughts. That's the only Phat we ever know. Help scientific research in your spare time. No cost. No obligation. anastasia writes: But with pantheism, that would be the only Phat there is Exactly. Phat is the sum total of his communications with us. As far as we know, that's all the reality there is to Phat. Now, since we are a lot like Phat in many ways, and we know that we have a "real" existence beyond our projected Internet existence, we can speculate that Phat also has a "real", extra-Internet existence. Sooooo... if we speculate that God has a "real", extra-sensory existence, we are tacitly suggesting that we are enough like God to "understand" His extra-sensory existence. The more we claim to know about God, the more pantheistic we become. Help scientific research in your spare time. No cost. No obligation. Join the World Community Grid with Team EvC

Rob writes: There is no "enemy". Well, then go 'party on' Wayne... Drink the cup of your desires! Indulge in the loving goodness of existing! Consume your fill of flesh. What does "consuming my fill of flesh" have to do with an "enemy"? I have the knowledge of good and evil, so it's my own responsibility to keep my flesh-consuming to a manageable level. Blaming your own faults on an "enemy" is just irresponsible.
I'm going to keep reminding you that there is hell to pay for such folly. What does "hell to pay" have to do with an "enemy"? Who is it Who consigns us to heaven or hell? Your "enemy"? Or the one and only God? Is your dislike of pantheism such that you prefer polytheism?

Rob writes: Who is it Who consigns us to heaven or hell? Your "enemy"? Or the one and only God? We consign ourselves to hell. That sounds mighty egotheistic. But stop and think: the criminal is not the judge. The criminal chooses his actions but the judge assigns his fate. We no more "consign ourselves to hell" than a criminal sentences himself to jail.
You'll find your enemy in the mirror. That is where I found 'mine'. ABE: Make up your mind. In Message 259, you said:

Rob writes: God is good. So just as a society would not be 'good' by allowing the criminal to remain free, so it is with God. A judge can suspend sentence and so can God. That's not a reflection on the "goodness" of either. It's called "mercy".
It is only a criminal and a lunatic who blames his consignment on the judge. Only a criminal is consigned by the judge in the first place.
The prosecutor is the one who accuses. The prosecutor is not the accuser. He is only the representative of the accuser.
God accuses no-one.... Then who does? Another "enemy" in your pantheon?
... and only judges what is right and just. To say that, you must have already judged what is "right and just". You become more and more egotheistic. Help scientific research in your spare time. No cost. No obligation. Join the World Community Grid with Team EvC

Rob writes: I am only giving you what the Bible says. Well, no you're not. Your own Bible quote says:
quote: but you say:
The accuser is the devil. By Logic 101, you're claiming that Moses is the devil.
Moses represents the law. And the law brings death not life. The letter of the law brings death. The spirit of the law brings life.
And the accusor will use that standard by which to prosecute and claim 'his own as his'. You're still confusing the accuser with the prosecutor. Too many entities in your pantheon. Help scientific research in your spare time. No cost. No obligation. Join the World Community Grid with Team EvC

Rob writes: By Logic 101, you're claiming that Moses is the devil. I already addressed this and you know it... Your accusation would carry more weight if you actually showed where I was wrong instead of just making an empty claim.
You have wasted far too much of God's prescious time given to me for His name sake. More egotheism. The real God is not under time constraints.

Rob writes: Prophets are despised because the hearer is offended by Christ. Jesus said:
