Admin, that's pretty much bull crap and you know it.
Guess you found another liar, huh? But then, you always do.
Just you, Diogenese and Ol' Rabid Ray, trudging down the beach, looking for an honest man and avoiding the mirror...
I oppose the Showcase. I think you should either be banned entirely or allowed full privileges and held to the same standards as every other member.
Of course, that would mean your suspension on an almost daily basis, but that's how you teach infants, toddlers, and delinquents--fair discipline, consistently applied. My understanding from past discussions is that that approach was considered more work that you were worth--in which case you should be banned.

Re: Why you are restricted, again.
I don't see this as a lie accusation so much as I see it as a poor manner of addressing ADMIN so as to communicate that he may be mistaken.
Nice apologetics, Buz.
And, true, some people think that you have to whack others with a 2x4 to get their attention before communication can occur.
But "that's bull crap and you know it" is pretty much a charge of lying. I suppose you could call it an accusation of hypocrisy, but there is no essential difference.

Re: About those Forum Guidelines
The truth is I appreciate the potential Showcase has for real discussion, and have no interest in rejoining the regular forum unless and until there are substantial changes.
The truth is that you would rather enjoy the illusion of power in your grubby little zoo than live by the rules of civil discourse enforced by someone else.
An example of even-handedness would have been your permanent banning for repeatedly falsely calling someone a liar. That was presumably the reason given for banning me, and yet you have merely been warned despite your infractions being far more severe on this point.
You are delusional. This forum suffered a thousand times the calumny from you than you have recieved before you were banned, and at every turn you cried censorship. Surprise! The whiner is a bully.
Also, you really are a liar and a coward, and Dr. A is not.

Drinking when we are not thirsty and making love at any time, madam, is all that distinguishes us from the other animals.

It seems you can neither call a liar a liar, nor a lie a lie.
If Admin has recently been scrupulously fair to you, you will pay especially heavily if you persist in doing so; but if you are a troll who labels others liars but lacks the balls to use the word, "O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! He chortled in his joy!"
In the spirit of that jabberwocky state of affairs, I offer:

You could even tell lies
Without fear of replies

Re: An Elegy for Dr. Adequate, Over-Suspended Over A Troll
PaulK, one does not rebut Art.
I would add, however, that (A) a one week suspension was threatened for any further infraction, but (B) one month was imposed.
What does that make A?
Dr. Adequate sinned no more grievously than I did for my one day suspension.

Re: An Elegy for Dr. Adequate, Over-Suspended Over A Troll
IIRC, Dr. A did, in fact, stop calling randman a liar and instead dismissed (accurately and supportably, IMHO) specific utterances as lies. This may not be enough change on his part to satisfy you, but it was change, and change in the direction you urged.
If Dr. A had responded, "That is an untruth."--would that be a month-long suspension.
If Dr. A had responded, "That is not true."--would that be a month-long suspension?
I don't think you were a schmuck to stick up for Dr. A: in fact, I admired you for it. But Dr. A shouldn't sit out a month because the incident made you feel like a schmuck.
The Showcase forum is here only because so many people expressed an interest in discussion with the unmoderatable like Randman. But if the interest isn't so much in discussion but more in rattling the monkey cage, then Showcase should be eliminated because it simply attracts and emphasizes the worst from both sides.
Bingo.

Why wasn't Dr. A showcased, instead?
Excellent idea. If full-time denizens of Showcase are there because they are incorrigible, then why not have short-term suspensions served there as well?
That would improve the Showcase neighborhood, provide consistent justice, and (likely, shudder) inhibit repeat offenses.

Dr Adequate and CK haved been banned. I protest: these persons should not be banned.
AdminModulous is drunk on "power" and should be relieved of his duties. He makes no sense and seems to be the stereotypical college type kid attempting to impress his older Darwinian handlers who have taken him in at the expense of EvC patrons.
Ray
Nonsense--first, neither was banned; second, AdminModulous said what he would do, and that's what he did.
And in my own case, my remarks were an act of uncivil disobedience, and I respect AdminMod's judgments and actions.
Ray, in the context of the ongoing discussion about charges of lying and mental illness, let me assure you that I have never thought you were a liar.

Hilarious!
The exact situation I referred to, which people thought was so unlikely it could never occur, is occuring in this very thread.
Thanks, Herp!
