I am late but I am here if you chose to have faith
God has decided to make Himself known.
He will speak through this prophet but as in the past, the task of understanding remains with you.
If any wish to have faith in God's reality I will answer question and make comments to the best of my ability.
Know firstly that He does not communicate with anyone individual until they avail themselves of the Holy Spirit. It is the only form of contact that can happen. The Holy Spirit is passive until you find it within yourself. Do not expect our discussions to be easily understood. You must realize that expressing concepts into words is often time hard, especially when some of these concepts are not as we have been conditioned to think. Logic must prevail.
It has been said that at the end philosophy the only thing left to argue will be language and the meaning of words. We are at that point in time.
If and how this discourse continues is up to you. I expect many of you jesters are not ready to hear what I will be saying and I would hope that you allow your more serious friends to dominate our discourse. Know now that if this is not the case I will go elsewhere.
Know that I poses only one consciousness and there is much demand elsewhere.
Do not expect proof except for what you already see hear and perceive. Do not expect miracles other than the ones that emanate from your own powers.
This prophet has gained much knowledge and wisdom from direct contact. I hope it will suffice to clarify the reality we all live in.
Perhaps a good way to begin discussions is at the beginning.
This fist revelation will help separate the wheat from the chaff.
I will be using the language of the Bible for the sake of history. The Bible it is your best way to truth. You need to know that although I will use terms like angels and demons, that these are only representative words for good thought and ideas and the later respectively for bad thought and ideas. They have no physical form.
Let us make one thing clear God is Perfect. Perfection can only produce Perfection. In the beginning God created Adam and Eve Perfect. It follows then that any decisions they made were by force Perfect. Know also that all is in Perfect balance and things progress as they should.
I am at your service.
Regards
DL

Ah...forgot to say that somehow someone witnessed what He wrote on the paper before you question.

Let the record show that another fundie has barged into this meeting and declared himself a prophet. We will test your spirit by requesting that you go buy lunch for all of us.
Or we could all just carve up the Spaghetti Monster and have communion.

I know I shouldn't encourage anyone but...
Let us make one thing clear God is Perfect. Perfection can only produce Perfection. In the beginning God created Adam and Eve Perfect. It follows then that any decisions they made were by force Perfect. Know also that all is in Perfect balance and things progress as they should.
If perfection can only produce perfection, and God created everything, thus everything must then be perfect. And, if people were created perfect, then they would stay perfect unless something imperfect influenced them. But there can't be anything imperfect because God created everything, and by your logic, must make things perfect. Thus, all humans are perfect, AND everything they produce is perfect. Thus, this paragraph is perfect.

Best of All Possible Worlds with Bacchus

Certainly Leibniz thought so, in his attempt to solve the problem of evil. As summarized by Wikipedia:
quote:
If God is good and omnipotent, this world must be good, and in fact, this world is the best of all possible worlds. Imagine that all the world is made of good and evil. The best possible world would have the most good and the least evil. Courage is better than no courage. Yet without evil to challenge us there can be no courage. Since evil brings out the best aspects of mankind evil is regarded as necessary. So in creating this world God made some evil to make the best of all possible worlds.
Of course, I prefer Kris Kristofferson's analysis:
quote:
I was runnin thru the summer rain, tryn to catch that evenin train
And kill the old familiar pain weavin thru my tangled brain
When I tipped my bottle back and smacked into a cop I didnt see
That police man said, mister cool, if you aint drunk, then youre a
Fool.
I said, if thats against the law, then tell me why I never saw
A man locked in that jail of yours who wasnt neither black or poor as
Me?
Well, that was when someone turned out the lights
And I wound up in jail to spend the night
And dream of all the wine and lonely girls
In this best of all possible worlds.
Well, I woke up next mornin feelin like my head was gone
And like my thick old tongue was lickin something sick and wrong
And I told that man Id sell my soul for something wet and cold as that
Old cell.
That kindly jailer grinned at me, all eaten up with sympathy
Then poured himself another beer and came and whispered in my ear,
If booze was just a dime a bottle boy, you couldnt even buy the smell
I said, I knew there was something I liked about this town.
But it takes more than that to bring me down, down, down.
cause theres still a lot of wine and lonely girls
In this best of all possible worlds
Well, they finally came and told me they was a gonna set me free
And Id be leavin town if I knew what was good for me
I said, its nice to learn that evrybodys so concerned about my
Health.
(they were obsessed with it)
I said, I wont be leavin no more quicker than I can
cause Ive enjoyed about as much of this as I can stand
And I dont need this town of yours more than I never needed nothin
Else.
cause theres still alot of drinks that I aint drunk
And lots of pretty thoughts that I aint thunk
And lord theres still so many lonely girls
In this best of all possible worlds.
Dr. Pangloss could have helped him with those troublesome symptoms.
In conclusion, as my cranky old mentor loved to say about textual proofs, OED.
Bacchus belongs at this table.

Drinking when we are not thirsty and making love at any time, madam, is all that distinguishes us from the other animals.

Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva
The true triune god of the universe demands to be represented. Not only do it/they have a high readership (the Vedas and the Mahabarata are very popular, and the latter has even spawned hundreds of low-budget movies), but the universe itself evidences their existence. I submit that science itself has provided the evidence. Consider the following:
- The universe is. Science has determined that in the beginning the universe-to-be was an infinite point containing the potential for all that would follow. We have even see the echos in our telescopes. In this, science itself has touched upon the essence of Hiranyagarbha which both contained and was created by Brahma.
- The universe continues to exist, although in dynamic disequilibrium. Vishnu the Preserver, god of a thousand names, strives against the forces that would tear the universe apart. No other godling even recognizes these forces exist, and hence is powerless to affect them.
- The universe is winding down the entropy gradient. Suns are dying, and even locally 98+% of all species that have ever existed on Earth alone have gone extinct. All these facts show the fingerprints of Shiva, Destroyer of Worlds. No other religious figure or pseudo-deity can so well explain the observations from nature.
It is clear that science provides the most compelling grounds to accept the Triune God as the One True God (tm).

Re: Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva
I think of the Mysterious Stranger by Mark Twain.
Twain writes:
"Don't cry," Satan said; "they were of no value."
"But they are gone to hell!"
"Oh, it is no matter; we can make plenty more." ....It was of no use to try to move him; evidently he was wholly without feeling, and could not understand.
Psalm 102:3
3 For my days vanish like smoke;
my bones burn like glowing embers.

Re: Can I tell the truth, Jesus?
my motives?
what are they? do you know? how can you be certain they are impure?
is it because I reject christ, and make that plain as day that my motives are (or have to be) impure?
my motives are no more impure than your own. I seek to understand and ask questions. that is my motive.

just so there's no confusion, Kris Kristofferson is not my son.
(it was tradition in scandinavia to make your surname your father's first name, plus son. hence, Leif Erikson,(spelling wrong), son of Eric the Red (dude who got to Greenland, land of ice).
following the tradition, I would have been Christopher Johnson. granted, the tradition hasn't been followed for quite some time to my understanding (or else, all my uncles in sweden would be Erikson).
just so there's no confusion.
I move that this be struck from the record--it has no bearing whatsoever on the meeting.
quick question: what does QED and OED stand for?

Hi, kuresu.
From Wikipedia:
quote:
Q.E.D. is an abbreviation of the Latin phrase "quod erat demonstrandum" (literally, "which was to be demonstrated"). In simple terms, the use of this Latin phrase is to indicate that something has been definitively proven.
In modern popular usage QED has a certain "I told you so" or "nyah nyah" quality to it, but formally merely indicates an assertion of a definitive proof. QED probably is most appropriately used at the end of mathematical proofs where the authority of the proof is likely to be transparent and self-contained.
OED, on the other hand, is the tome-ish Oxford English Dictionary, considered the definitive dictionary of the English language, especially as relating to etymology (the history of a linguistic form).
So when my old English prof finished his remarks with "OED" he was quibbling (punning) with both the notion of a definitional proof from textual authority (OED) and the claim of a demonstrated definitive logical proof (QED). By saying OED, he was saying, "I'm right because I looked it up"; by quibbling with QED, he was slyly subverting the notion of indisputable proof.
He was, in fact, skeptical of both on the grounds of appeals to authority.
Dry, I suppose, but tasty, like a good martini.
