So, birds evolved from dinosaurs (reptiles). Its pretty obvious just by looking at an Emu and a Therapod fossil. (I actual saw an Emu face to face a short time ago and damn if it didn't LOOK like a dinosaur.)
So my short question is: How did they go from cold blooded to warm blooded? It had to have been gradual, right? Anybody got any links to an explanation for me? Just wondering, thanks in advance.

I'm treating this as an OP in proposed topics. This is not the right place for it so I am promoting it to "Biological Evolution".

I thought this probably has been worked out already and somebody could post a link to the explanation at Talk Origens, or something.
Did you mean to put the whole thread in Biological Evolution? or were you trying for just the one post. ABE: See Message 196 for my question please. Edited by Catholic Scientist, : see ABE

I've been in inactive mode, but had to come out of inactivity for this. Shouldn't you have just left the thread alone and moved only the post in question to Bio Evo? It looks like the thread's original intent was for people to ask short questions about the forum. It seems a bit silly for the rest of the thread to be in bio evo if the latest question by CS is on bio evo matter, don't you think?

These are the emoticons I know how to make. Anybody knows any others?

When you reply to a message, on the left of the text box are three links, one of which is Smilies Legend. This lists the smilies supported by this site.

Emoticons and smilies have zero literary value. They usualy appear as pimples on the face of an already blemished writing. They are the corn dogs of modern web literature, evolving from the covers of Pee-Chees in junior high school to express what nobody needs to or should consume. What if Edgar Allen Poe or Wm Shakespeare had to rely on emoticons to get their literary points across?:
...quoth the raven, 'Nevermore'. or ...to be or not to be, that is the question. Emotocons are like junk DNA... MHOIAW ”HM

I especially liked your Shakespeare example. The use of emoticons should be discouraged as much as possible, in favour of the teaching of good writing. Words should speak for themselves.

Hoot Mon writes: Emoticons and smilies have zero literary value. I'll remember that when I'm rewriting Hamlet. In real-life conversations, however, I will continue to give face-to-face feedback to people I am talking to. And since the Internet is a conversational medium, I will continue to use (and encourage the use) of emoticons. In the spirit of Mark Twain, it's better to use a smilie to indicate that you're joking than to have people think you're just an idiot. Case in point, somebody who constantly has his messages "misunderstood" should unstuff his "power of words" shirt and use every means at his disposal to convey his meaning.
