America, and Europe, so your not really going to find good bands outside those two conutries
France, Germany, Mexico, Canada, Italy, Poland, Brazil, Chile, and a whole host of other countries are going to be pissed about this statement. The USA and the UK/Ireland are not the only countries in America and Europe.

correction: the beatles didn't play blues, esp. not blues-rock.
they are, in a way, proto pop rock.
oh, and just where did Hendrix make it big? England. Yardbirds? England. Zeppelin? England. Cream? England. Like it or not, these bands are original. And all from Europe (though Hendrix grew up in the US, he never made the music scene here until after his breakthrough in England).
as to your comment about Hamlet's monolouge--if that doesn't move you in some way, you're inhuman. Face it prophex, shakespeare touches the soul like few can. it's more than just total mastery of the english language.

out of canada you have rush, among other's but that's not the point.
you called America and Europe countries. not sure if you missed that or not. i was just listing a bunch of countries in those geographical areas, so as to remove any confusion over whether Europe is one country or many (and same with America).

Rockin' In The Free World by Neil Young
--------
There's colors on the street
Red, white and blue
People shufflin' their feet
People sleepin' in their shoes
But there's a warnin' sign on the road ahead
There's a lot of people sayin' we'd be better off dead
Don't feel like Satan, but I am to them
So I try to forget it, any way I can.
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world.
I see a woman in the night
With a baby in her hand
Under an old street light
Near a garbage can
Now she puts the kid away, and she's gone to get a hit
She hates her life, and what she's done to it
There's one more kid that will never go to school
Never get to fall in love, never get to be cool.
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world.
We got a thousand points of light
For the homeless man
We got a kinder, gentler,
Machine gun hand
We got department stores and toilet paper
Got styrofoam boxes for the ozone layer
Got a man of the people, says keep hope alive
Got fuel to burn, got roads to drive.
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world.
