I think part of your problem is that hind sight is 20-20.
Your listening to all this stuff, after the fact. When it first came out, it was cutting edge. All other stuff that you listen too is based on those famous bands, such as the BEatles, Eric Clapton, etc.
Most of the good bands of today get their inspiration from those bands that you call unoriginal.
Nobody does roack and roll, and the blues like America, and Europe, so your not really going to find good bands outside those two conutries. And if you did, it would probably be in another language, and that would make it unenjoyable to those who don't understand the language.

I can't think of any real good bands from either France, Mexico, Italy, Brazil, Chili, or Germany (that I like anyway).
But I am not saying there isnt one there, I would love to hear of them.
Maybe Germany has something, and or Poland. But most of the stuff I hear from those countries all sounds second rate.
I was thinking about Canada, but couldn't think of any bands off hand.
There are some good worship bands out of Canada, but we are talking about rock n roll, and blues.

I don't think there is any good rock and blues in Europe.
All you got is the Beatles. haha
I don't like the Rolling Stones all that much, but if you weigh in all the factors, I think the Stones are the greatest rock band ever.
How you could say that Eric Clapton sucks is beyond me. Anyone who is anyone gets there rifs from clapton (for that given style of music).
It's like comparing cavemen to Einstein or something. You have to compare apples to apples. You probably also don't realize how hard it is to make something sound easy. do you even play an instrument?
