Re: Please Elaborate
if so, why bother understanding morality through reason? you don't have a say in what is moral if it's god-give. As you yourself claim, you're not god.
Good Question.
It is attainable. Otherwise life itself would be not worth bothering over.

Re: Please Elaborate
all people are born with
the ability to learn
a knowledge of morality.
If you refuse to tell us what morality is, it makes it appear you do not know what you are talking about. Under the circumstances, how is anyone else supposed to divine your intentions?
I attempt to understand morality through reason.
I am not GOD.

And if I were to choose to sacrifice my son in order to allow for the least number of deaths and to allow at least one to live is my decision moral and yours not since you thereby allow for 2 deaths to occur?
Neither is moral.
I do nothing.

Re: You still have not answered the question.
Its nice that you are taking a class in philosophy. In subsequent units will you be telling us that morality is God (Augustine), subjective (Spinoza), or the will to power (Nietzsche)?
That isn't philosophy.
You don't think, don't spread your disgusting disease around here please.
