Re: Check out the subsequent generations
I guess you don't have a fence around your back yard.
I do. It helps deter criminals, and keeps stray kids from drowning in my swimming pool.
Thus you would keep your forefathers out. You probably lock your doors too. I don't, nor do I have fences. Strangely I am not overwhelmed by criminals and children with a death wish.
Without control of our border, America will gradually sink into an average country, instead of leading the world towards a desired goal.
The problem is not people who want to work and contribute to that America.
It is the nature man and socialization.
We gather in neighborhoods and we like to hoard things.
People who crave power will always dominate the meek.
It is the nature of selfish people. You must include yourself, if you make this a blanket statement.
You still did not answer the question though -- what gives you the right to draw lines? Your accident of birth is not a right. Having a "power" to drive off others is not a right.
Try thinking beyond your nose.
Enjoy.

... these people ...
Sigh. In that phrase alone is bigotry.
... are not checked for disease, at the borders.
When was the last time you were out of the country and checked for disease before returning? How many Americans fly around the world and return ... and are not checked for disease before returning? By what special pleading of privilege should some be checked and others not checked?
Or should Americans be kept in a compound safe from the rest of the world -- and where they can do no more harm to it?
With these 7,000 Iraqi refugees coming here, God only knows what will happen. I will not take sympathy for anyone.
So it's okay to totally disrupt another country, cause their social structures to collapse, render their medical facilities primitive, and not take any responsibility for it?
I will not take sympathy for anyone.
Who's asking for sympathy from a spoiled child? What gives you the right to draw the line?
Enjoy.

... , and she was advised to get shots, since it might up her immune system.
That is going, not coming back. Shots don't protect you from most diseases, just the ones they are designed for. They don't stop you from getting and spreading disease to others.
I am not a BIGOT, that's stupid to say!
Spoiled? Ha!
You think you are somehow privileged or better than "... these people ..." and that there should be extra precautions against them that you would not have to comply with. How is that NOT bigotry and spoiled?
With the refugees, will they respect American laws...? God only knows what will happen!!!
Compared to some vapidly ignorant Americans? Why are Americans jails so full of convicts -- more per capita than some totalitarian regimes? - if Americans are paragons of virtue? Based on such figures I would expect a HIGHER degree of compliance with American laws and regulations.
And you did not answer the question: What gives you the right to draw the line?
Enjoy.
