OTOH, all of the 9/11 bombers entered the US legally.

I think we should shut the borders, this country is turning in to a wasteland... Sick of all the 3rd world violence, and disease.
Then who is going to have the science and math skills to do the life-saving medical research and ingenious computer software design, etc?
We surely ain't teaching our home-grown children well enough for them to be able to rise to the level of many of the foreign-born kids that come to college here and end up staying and becoming citizens.
Oh, did you think that the only imigrants in the US were uneducated day-laborers?

... these people ...
Sigh. In that phrase alone is bigotry.
... are not checked for disease, at the borders.
When was the last time you were out of the country and checked for disease before returning? How many Americans fly around the world and return ... and are not checked for disease before returning? By what special pleading of privilege should some be checked and others not checked?
Or should Americans be kept in a compound safe from the rest of the world -- and where they can do no more harm to it?
With these 7,000 Iraqi refugees coming here, God only knows what will happen. I will not take sympathy for anyone.
So it's okay to totally disrupt another country, cause their social structures to collapse, render their medical facilities primitive, and not take any responsibility for it?
I will not take sympathy for anyone.
Who's asking for sympathy from a spoiled child? What gives you the right to draw the line?
Enjoy.

I am just saying that the illegal immigrants need to be checked. If they come to America and become American citizens, thats awesome! Good for them

I am not a BIGOT, that's stupid to say! When we get our passports, depending on where we go sometimes we need a shot, or whatever to up our immune systems. Different places have different illnesses. My friend had lived in Cambodia years ago, and she came to America. Years after that she wanted to go visit Cambodia again, and she was advised to get shots, since it might up her immune system. They do check us at the airports, for foods/waters from different places. I am saying, it would be a good idea, so something does not spread, or we do not spread something. With the refugees, will they respect American laws...? God only knows what will happen!!! Obviously I don't
I do not take sympathy for anyone, I never have and I never will. People have always destroyed me. Spoiled? Ha! You don't even know me, but I can assure you life has NEVER been a joy ride for me. I do not "draw the line" for anyone. My views are what I believe. Thanks

... , and she was advised to get shots, since it might up her immune system.
That is going, not coming back. Shots don't protect you from most diseases, just the ones they are designed for. They don't stop you from getting and spreading disease to others.
I am not a BIGOT, that's stupid to say!
Spoiled? Ha!
You think you are somehow privileged or better than "... these people ..." and that there should be extra precautions against them that you would not have to comply with. How is that NOT bigotry and spoiled?
With the refugees, will they respect American laws...? God only knows what will happen!!!
Compared to some vapidly ignorant Americans? Why are Americans jails so full of convicts -- more per capita than some totalitarian regimes? - if Americans are paragons of virtue? Based on such figures I would expect a HIGHER degree of compliance with American laws and regulations.
And you did not answer the question: What gives you the right to draw the line?
Enjoy.

Think what you want. You seem to like to say "draw the line" quite a bit. Ask yourself this, Do YOU draw the line? Obviously you know WHATS BEST, so just put a period on the end and call it your own. ^.~
Plus... enjoy? Enjoy what?
You may think I am a bigot, you seem to draw the line quite often. Is it a squiggly line, or a jagged line? I draw lines all the time, I am an artist.
Spoiled... hehehe, why must you try to insult me? Just stop

I guess it's a good thing when nobody likes being called a "bigot".
It wasn't so very long ago when you could proudly say in public, "I hate those people. They should be sent-back-where-they-came-from/locked-up/lynched/whatever."
Now there's a social stigma to that. You have to resort to such euphemisms as, "I have nothing against those people, but they-should-get-jobs-but-not-take-our-jobs/I-wouldn't-want-my-sister-to-marry-one/they-have-diseases/whatever."
Not wanting to be called a "bigot" is the first step on the way to not being a bigot.

Oh, well why didn't you say that in the first place?
What you DID say is that "our borders should be shut", which indicates that you want ALL immigration to cease.
Our borders are always "shut" to illegal immirgants.
And why shouldn't all immigrants, including legal ones, be checked for disease? Why should't all Americans who travel abroad be checked for disease upon returning? Why shouldn't all foreign tourists who are visiting the US be checked for disease?
PS. Reading your posts, it often seems to me that English is not your first language. Tell me, are you an immigrant?
