From this thread I've noticed that people in their late 30s and over seem to much more content with their age than those in their late 20s.
Given that I still have 500 years' worth of projects, goals and aspirations, I'm not planning on becoming content any time soon

Just hit the half-century mark this year, but it's too depressing to contemplate. I'm in abject denial. I'm a convinced somebody slipped a couple of decades in there on me when I wasn't looking. I can't be much more than 30 or so. And I refuse to let it slow me down.
(Now someone hand me my cane and that old folks linament, por favor).

No over 60s I noticed, so far, or under 18s.
Well I guess someone has to fess up. I clocked in at 63 last November. There are 8 Grand-kids with the oldest one turning 22 next Saturday.
Actually this is a good age to be except that time is just rocketing by. We had mandatory retirement at age 60 and that just seems like yesterday. I read somewhere that a person's perceived life time is half over at age 21 and I think that there is something to that.

Everybody is entitled to my opinion.

Does that mean that everyone goes through an "oh no I'm getting old" phase when they're in their late 20s and then either become content with their age or realise that complaining about getting old is futile, or is it only very recently that someone in their late 20s could possibly be perceived as being old
I think it is only recently that someone in their late 20's is perceived as 'young'.
Generally, being content with your age comes with being content with your life.

I'm 28, will be 29 in May
Well, that's eerie. Same here.
Funnily enough, my birthday is 5/31/78, while my fianceé's is 5/29/78. We originally tossed around 5/30/08 as a possible date for the wedding, so we could get married on the one day in history when I could be a guy in his twenties marrying a girl in her thirties.
Then we settled on a different date, so I'm not sure where I'm going with this story.

I'm almost 26 years old.

Hate to burst your bubble, son, but that's three score and ten.
Better jam a lifetime into that T minus 39.

It's true about turning thirty, you give up worrying and start being proud of your anachronisms.
