Did the color scheme on this board change?
Displays "0 online now:" even though I am on line?
Maybe my eyes are going along with my mind?

The "0 online now" message is strange.
I hope somebody fixes this color scheme. it really sucks...

Too much blue
There is far, far too much blue on this forum now. I for one would like some other colours.
It reminds me of that Eiffel 65 song. Not so much the video clip though.

"And, lo, a great beast did stand before me, having seven heads, and on each head were there seven mouths, and in each mouth were there seventy times seven teeth. For truly there were seven times seven times seven times seventy teeth, meaning there were. . . okay, carry the three, adding twenty. . . plus that extra tooth on the third mouth of the sixth head. . . Well, there were indeed a great many teeth" - The Revelation of St. Bryce the Long-Winded

No Prob
No the new scheme does not suck nor is it that difficult to read. It's just different. I've recently had some additions and updates from IT and wondered if they had screwed the graphics card.
As for the Online=0, I had become concerned that I no longer had anyone to play with. I was beginning to feel lonely.
Nice to know y'all are still here even if y'all do look a little funny around the edges.

Re: No Prob
I agree in part -- the colors are rather attractive -- and disagree in part -- it is more difficult to read. The lower contrast between the blue links and the blue background does make it harder to read. Especially on my flat screen lap top in a sun lit room.

Re: No Prob
Maybe it would be possible to implement a function allowing members to customize font colours to whatever they want? I don't know if this can be done, but I thought it was worth suggesting.
Personally, I like the blue. I find it much easier on the eyes than the yellow. Has an overall softer feel or something... I don't know. But if everyone could personalize their own display settings then we could all be happy. As I said, though, I have no idea how difficult it would be to do this.

I sometimes go to Tools --> Internet Options --> Accessibility to change to "white-cane" mode - because I don't like the dark background.

Because my spare time has been co-opted by real work, I occasionally feel a real strong need to update something, anything, just so I don't feel useless. Since I didn't have the time to update software I changed a few colors. If someone who is HTML color conversant can come up with a scheme with good color contrast with the background and with good differentiation between link colors then we'll use it.
Someone asked about giving individual users the ability to create their own color schemes. This wouldn't be very hard to do, it's actually on the to-do list already, but I don't expect to return to coding until mid-summer at the earliest, shortly after I post screen shots of my newly released product!

actually, the colors look the same luminosity to me, so the contrast is probably the same. what you're observing is the difference between "cool on cool" and "warm on cool." a warm color, like yellow, on top of a cool background (like blue) appears to have added contrast due to the near-complimentary hues.
sorry, art major.
as a side note, i don't find it significantly more difficult to read, but i also understand that i see differently than, well, anyone i've ever met. we had an excercise in my color theory class, where we painted a large and very bright orange rectangle, and painted three squares of middle gray in it. one neutral, one with a slight warm cast, one with a slight cool one. the idea is that the cool one sticks out more than the warm one or the neutral one. in the example image in our color theory book (carefully calibrated printing and all), i could not see the effect. apparently, i was the one of only three people in the history of that teacher's class that could not see it. the other two were color blind.
but i am not color blind. in fact, on dual ishihara diagrams, i easily see BOTH numbers.

it's not so much the html color codes, but the artistic side of picking a good color palette. color codes are easily generated.
