Several years ago I was an active poster under the user name of "JT," but haven't posted since. I am now on spring break and decided to come back for a little while, but my account seems to be broken.
I cannot login, and there is no "JT" on the list of members. I requested my password to be emailed to me; strangely, I received an email with my old password, but the space for the user name was empty
Is there a way to fix my account or should I just get used to this new one?
Thanks,
JT

Attn Percy - We have a JT / jt alias problem
http://EvC Forum: Problems with Chromosomal Evolution - From Circular to Linear -->EvC Forum: Problems with Chromosomal Evolution - From Circular to Linear is a topic started by the "old" JT.
I see there, that you have the aliases JT and jt, with the JT being the active one. In the not too distant past, Admin/Percy changed the board software such that now the user names are not case sensitive. For example, before there could have been two seperate members BB and bb. Now that is not permitted.
Anyhow, there has been problems such as yours, because of the upper case / lower case aliases. This can be fixed, but only Percy (the software engineer) can do it.
He should get you fixed soon and get you your JT ID back. But for now, post away as JT2. Later, the JT2 ID can be merged with the JT ID.

The fix is done
I see that Percy has fixed the problem, and the JT (upper case) ID has been eliminated. Also, the JT2 ID has been merged with the jt ID (is an alias).
If you wish, you can go to your profile (link at top-left of most pages) and change the "jt" to "JT" by entering the "JT" as an alias. Doing such will replace the "jt" - there will be no "jt" alias.
