Hi Kinetic, welcome to EvC
according to Einstein space bends around planetary bodies. Does this influence parallax distance calculations
Not practically. If you were daft enough to take the position of star by viewing along a line of sight that grazed the Sun, then you would get an error because of the warped space-time around the Sun.
The observed position of galaxies is often distorted by intervening galaxies (look up gravitational lensing), but unless your parallax base-line is the diameter of our Galaxy or bigger, the error is going to be the same for both positon measurements, so shouldn't affect things too much.
How accurate can you measure distance?
We used to joke that for in-Galaxy distances, within a factor of 2 was good, and for anything else, getting the right order of magnitude was an achievement! Even back then, it was never that bad. Now things are substantially better. I'm sure you could look up some figures, but I guess in-Galaxy distances will be 1-10% error depending on distance, direction and intervening material; local group around 10%, getting steadily worse the further we go out. Much depends on our "standard candles" and there has been some dispute over their reliability recently, so maybe incresaing error bounds to 30%? I'm guessing here. As our ability to use parallax grows (have a baseline from here to Neptune's orbit, say) our accuracy will incraese dramatically.

Re: Aside on energy and mass
Can I ask something? something that I really need to know?
But first, let me remind everyone that the topic was
"how light from stars further away than 5 or 6 thousand light years
came to exist"
So now the question, where in the bible does it say the earth is only
5 or 6 thousand years old or younger?

It's calculated from the genealogies in Genesis. If you take the begats seriously, the earth can only be about 6000 years old.

Re: Aside on energy and mass
Thats pure speculation, and infact there is a big gap
from Genesis. to Exodus. and no time was given in Genesis
as to when all those events took place, from when God created
man, or the world. and Genesis is full of gaps in it's self.
So I am still confused.
I myself don't buy into that age calculated earth from
Genesis theory.

You don't have to buy it. It's not for sale - it's what the Bible says.
There are appropriate topics to discuss that topic - not here.

anyways, stars came about becouse of a big bang ect.
you know the story, but how or who started it is another question.
I don't think it started by its self, if it did then the next time I am at home, and there is only me and one of my kids there, and I ask
him who spilled this class of milk, and he says I don't know I should
believe him.
Cool, my son will love this one.

I'm dying to know. What country are you from? What language(s) beside English do you speak? Do you have any religious affiliation? Answering these questions would greatly help me figure out something about you that I've been wondering about for the last couple days.

In all honesty, I am just confused. You claim to have been an engineer and programmer in your life. You claim to have at least a son. You seem to have implied that you're a natural born English speaker. All of these claims point to someone that should have at least a technical grasp of the English language AS WELL AS some technical knowledge of basic science.
What confuses me is that your spellings are consistently terrible. Its not like missing an apostrophe like the first word in this sentence. You are consistently misspelling words, writing long run-on sentences, and not being able to interpret properly what others say on here. What confuses me even more is your apparent total lack of understanding of the most basic concepts in science.
Now, if I have stumbled onto some sort of condition or that English isn't really your first language, then I apologize. But for now, to me at least, your posts do not resemble that of an engineer veteran and programmer. The gods help you if you write the same way on your resume and cover letters.
And rest assured that I am not questioning your beliefs. I am questioning some of your claims.

And you have all those rights to do so.
I have no degree in english nore in a true science.
electron theory and Ohm's law along with scientific notation ect.
I think you must think I am suppose to be a beauty queen?
also I am sure the posts I make bug you in my style and maybe my
content too as well. but I was not applying for a job either.
nore do I put any professional touch on forum posts as if I was
writting a book?
also you can attack my spelling, grammar, and anything else you wish
to do, and I still will respect you.
Judge as you wish, but what nationality I am is not your concern.

Please do.
As it stands, your posts are about 95% incomprehensible.

Look who's talking. I now take all this as very personal and find
that I no longer can post on this forum.
As I now believe that evolutionists to be under handed, hateful, dishonest
afraid of challenge as well as a group of people who try to silence
others who have different views.
You showed me more about this group then I could have known otherwise.
your just the things I read about, but I had an open mind and gave
you your shot to prove it wrong, but you lived upto and beyond your
reputation.
I think it is becouse of the lack of god with in you.
Thanks for the lesson.

you are quite wrong on this account, Z. I love a challenge, and I am not dishonest, under handed, or hateful (to the best of my ability). There are very few here on EvC who are.
We don't silence those who believe differently from us. We ask questions, and when people make erroneous statements (like 2 + 2 = 5), we try to correct their understanding.
You have misunderstood a whole group of people. Try not to do that again.
