Confidential to subbie.
Contents hidden. Use notch P on Secret Decoder Ring.

Based on decades of experience with Internees, it has become clear that the productivity of said Internees is directly proportional to their term of Internment and inversely proportional to their level of compensation. Therefore it is strongly recommended that a long term contract be imposed on any such Internees with a negative incentive compensation base.
Be sure to destroy before decoding.

Re: Pffrrts from Splat
I've been mulling over the problem of unbalancing the Universe if we bring the stuff to the surface, and I think I've got the solution. Have the diggers bring up small quantities, and if they start to feel the planet tipping or anything, they can discard some as they come up. Maybe they should bring parakeets down with them, just in case.
Dig two shafts 180o apart. By coordinating the recovery effort balance can be maintained.

Re: Pffrrts from Splat
To maximize funds and minimize expenses simply explain to the diggers that to select the necessary samples we must first shed light on the subject by continuing the dig until the other side is reached. That has the additional advantage of allowing precise string measurements to determine the exact center which is estimated to be 475560 knots on an Imperial Log Line (which is equal to 251095680 Sacred Pyramid Inches).
In addition it will allow them to simply lower samples out the other side using the very same Imperial Log Line used to measure the distance to the center instead of having to carry the samples all the way back up to the point of origin. That should significantly reduce both the total time and expense of the project.
