The Fall.
Several years back the Savannah, Ga paper carried banner headlines, "Car theft down 200%."
I immediate ran outside expecting to see another car in the driveway.

Perhaps apocryphal, but my spanish teacher in high school repeatedly talked about a headline he saw one time in a small town Minnesota newspaper:
quote:
Fertile Woman Dies in Climax

Those who would sacrifice an essential liberty for a temporary security will lose both, and deserve neither. -- Benjamin Franklin
We see monsters where science shows us windmills. -- Phat

Ok, usually I can figure out what they "meant" to say...but this one has me stumped. Did they grossly misspell "clinic"?

This isn't a headline. It's something I read long ago. Can't remember where. It made me laugh the whole day.

Evening Sermon: Searching for Jesus.

Disclaimer:
Occasionally, owing to the deficiency of the English language, I have used he/him/his meaning he or she/him or her/his or her in order to avoid awkwardness of style.
He, him, and his are not intended as exclusively masculine pronouns. They may refer to either sex or to both sexes!

I had a whole book of these once... my favorite was "Hershey Bars Protest."
Here's a page of them!

"I know some of you are going to say 'I did look it up, and that's not true.' That's 'cause you looked it up in a book. Next time, look it up in your gut."
-Stephen Colbert

Two towns in Minnesota, Fertile and Climax.
