I once had the epiphany that liquids conform to the shape of their container...it was mindblowing. See the part you quoted. Any number of stupid thoughts occur to someone while tripping. It's part of free-association. And honestly, the physics involved in liquid motion do blow my mind while sober sometimes. However, another, much bigger part of the free-association that comes with tripping is blazing new pathways in your brain. Your mind moves in new, higher ways, in which would not otherwise move. If you're lucky, and have a capacity for working your head inside the trip, you can leave those new trails blazed when you come down. Maybe I'm a real lucky duck, but the ways my mind moves on hallucinogens can't be plotted on a three-axis graph.
Too much of a good thing is very possible with psychodelics. See my response to Berberry. Too much of a good thing can easily be bad. Me too, Dan! I'd already finished my glass of milk, but I did damn near wet my pants when I read that!

Fact is, you can't accept that your lifestyle is immoral. Address the heart of my posts if you want to be taken seriously. The fact is, morality is of no value beyond the individual and so is irrelevant to the discussion. Jesus H Christ! Who cares if something is moral or immoral? The heart of the matter is that as usual, all you can do is make assertions and regurgitate half digested platitudes. Once again, you have shown that your only contribution is irrelevant and inane posts. That is called being a "Post Whore" and about as productive as a dog humping an ottoman. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

quote:I was just joking, I'm pretty sure I've had some somewhat profound insights while tripping, though I can't recall them at the moment. I think one of the most useful things they do, atleast for me, is lessen the anasthetic of familiarity. That is, when confronted with something everyday we lose our sense of awe and wonder about it since it is familiar. Psychodelics seems to be useful in this respect. The problem is when you lose all sense of familiarity...scary shit.

I think one of the most useful things they do, atleast for me, is lessen anasthetic of familiarity. That is, when confronted with something everyday we lose our sense of awe and wonder about it since it is familiar. Psychodelics seems to be useful in this respect. I think that's a good way of putting one aspect of it. We drop a lot of our shields, like irony or experience, and just embrace stuff that's commonplace, but still fucking. awesome. I guess I just don't personally associate that directly with hallucinogens, because when I think of "everything's awesome" as an effect, I think E. But it's definitely there with hallucinogens.
The probably is when you lose all sense of familiarity...scary shit. True. I've never had a bad trip, but have seen friends do so. I might just be kind of comfortable being off my game like that. Drunkenness is immoral because as I said because it lowers you to a state lower than that of an animal. You temporarily do not have your cognitive ability and you are irrational, lacking the ability to reason. I bowled my best three games when I was blasted drunk off my ass. It was my first year in the leaque, and I scored 203,206,212 and won the high handicap award for the year, got money. Not bad for being lower than an animal. I also dance much better when drunk, or at least it seems that way, lol. My online gaming skills increase as well after having a beer or two, even after 3 or 4.

Roman Catholic to be exact.
Your comment is perverse. Drinking to excess is what I am talking about.

I have to tell people about the Law, Jar. I don't know Dan well enough to call his lifestyle completely immoral. No one is perfect. My apologies. However, aspects of it most certainly are.

Drinking to excess is what I am talking about. According to the Bible, Jesus gave them more wine after they ran out. And the stuff he made was the best and he made a whole whole lot of it. The MC commented that most people start with the best (so that everyone is drunk by the time they get to the cheap stuff). Why would Jesus make even more wine, after they had ran out and presumable everyone was already drunk, if being drunk was so immoral? Have you ever been to a wedding reception? People get trashed at those things. Jesus fueled it. It can't be wrong.
