I'd like to see data to support this claim.
It's true that many
patients augment their medical treatments with alternative remedies. MDs generally say little about it as long as the alternatives don't affect the protocol.
Plenty of cancer patients get acupuncture. But I have yet to hear of an oncologist
referring a patient to an acupuncturist--even for supplemental treatment.
