Re: Stumble
A tiny percentage of the questions were a bit unfair. For example, "Where is the Berlin Wall?", I would have paused, too, thinking, "Okay, he must be asking what road the Berlin Wall was on, do I know that? Let's see, there was Brandenberg Gate, was it on Brandenberg Street? No, that can't be right, I think the wall turned corners, so it couldn't be said to be on any particular street. Is he asking if it divided East Berlin from West Berlin? I guess I'm not sure what he's asking."
Also, "Where is KFC from," I would have paused there, too, knowing that although KFC stands for Kentucky Fried Chicken, that is quite possibly just a marketing name, and the company itself could be from anywhere.
But the vast majority of the questions were perfectly fair, and they highlight a very real problem here in the states - we think it perfectly okay to graduate ignoramuses from high school. I especially liked the mislabeled map. In a couple hours my daughter walks down the aisle to accept her high school diploma, and I'm gratified that she knows that South Korea is not on the continent of Australia.

What about those talking about the FSM??? You aren't ragging on them. Why?
I brought up the FSM as a comparative to creation science. I would still like to know if you support the building of FSM museums. A more direct question is - Should people be overjoyed when museums are built on fantasy, mythology, or lies? What about if such museums are built yet portray these ideas as facts?
I am not talking about the FSM. I am asking you if you are overjoyed at fantasy museums possibly being created and marketed to children as truth.
--------
I got through this thread after I replied to your post #46. I see now that you do not wish to present your evidence, nor address any of the issues presented in the science threads.
Are you claiming that the science threads are based on evidence? If so, what parts of the evidence? All of it, or just the narrow, piddly little cultish bits of fleshly stuff they chose there??
What you could do - present the evidence that you feel you have that contradicts the evidence that science has. Being that the topic would be yours people would have to abide by the forum rules and stay within that line of thought.

This Thread is in the Wrong Forum
Judging by the discussion in this thread, it really belongs in the [forum=-11] forum, so I'm moving it there. Before doing that, I'd like to make a few points.
First, a discussion thread is not a chat room. The discussion board format permits deliberation, study, thought and reflection. When you find yourself exchanging very short messages with the same person or persons every couple minutes, please post a message suggesting that everyone go to the EvC Forum Chat Room.
Second, threads have topics, not to limit discussion, but to keep discussion focused. The topic of this thread, judging from the discussion so far, concerns science museums and their responsibility for accurate representation.
Third, I am the 3rd moderator to post here in the past 24 hours. Obviously what moderators have observed in this thread is causing concern, so let me explicitly caution participants to focus on their discussion on the topic, and not on the people they're discussing with.

Re: General items
So you believe, like Jesus, in the flood, and the first man, Adam?
No, of course not. There has NEVER been a world-wide flood and certainly not in the literal Adam.
Fine, present the evidence that there is nothing that is more than animal and show it is something not also possessed by all the other animals and we can discuss it. Meanwhile, admit you know not about what it is you speak.
I'm sorry but YOU were the person asserting that there was something more.
Well, referring to the groups of believers as cons, and cults, and charlatans with a 'pimp daddy of a god' comes to mind! Should I be feeling the love in there somehow?
Sorry if the truth hurts. But it is only the members that have a picayune bling-bling pimp-daddy of a god. The preachers and teachers and pastors and ministers and padres and priests and other charlatans who are getting rich off the membership of the Christian Cult of Ignorance, who take advantage of them through things like the different Creation Museums and conathons like the 700 Club have no god but themselves and your money.
I hope you do feel the love, because you have been lied to by your religious leaders and now you have a chance not just to see that they are lying to you, but that it is possible to learn, and to grow as a Christian.

Re: The "Flying Spagetti Monster" is off-topic...
That guideline was not specifically aimed at Key's. The ultimate problem goes back to whomever first introduced the FSM into the topic.
Also, in regards to Molbiogirl's message 73, where she quotes and comments on the content of message 1.
Here is your OP in its entirety:
First we had the one in the US. Now, another one in Canada. I would not be surprised if many in different states and countries opened up over the next decade or so.
I think this is a good thing. A great thing. Long overdue.
Not because all the science is perfect, any more than it might be for the evolution proponents, but, because children deserve faith.
I plan to recommend both museums, and any more than spring up.
You will note that nowhere is "creation" mentioned.
"Creationism" is in the topic title:
Creationism museum opens in Alberta
That leaves the topic pretty broad, but "creationism" and "museum" are pretty key words.
Creationism is on topic, IF it connects up with the creationism museum concept. Basicly, if it wouldn't be found in the museum, then it's off-topic.

It really helps moderators figure out if a topic is disintegrating because of general misbehavior versus someone in particular if the originally non-misbehaving members kept it that way. When everyone is prickly and argumentative and off-topic and personal then it's just too difficult to tell. We have neither infinite time to untie the Gordian knot, nor the wisdom of Solomon.
There used to be a comedian who presented his ideas for a better world, and one of them was to arm everyone on the highway with little rubber dart guns. Every time you see a driver doing something stupid, you fire a little dart at his car. When a state trooper sees someone driving down the highway with a bunch of darts all over his car he pulls him over for being an idiot.

Re: Where to discuss?
I prefer to have more flexibility to look at all evidences, including things this forum does not consider science.
.
I'm now not even sure who is defending what side of the argument.
A scientific museum deals with matters of science. Maybe you should bring your "things that this forum does not consider science" to a new "Proposed New Topics" topic.
Again, I'm not focusing this on just Keys.

Well, don't get too cocky, after all, how many facts does man have the power to review, or even access to??

OK, getting back on topic, I noticed this exhibit from the creation museum. (I will remind people that I wanted this in the coffee house, someone bumped it here, don't blame me)

This is some of the biblical related content to what is in the museum.

The Coffee House is for topics not related to creation vs evolution.
The science fora are for debates on science issues.
