Um, no. The only time I think about the concept/idea of god is when I take part in a theological discussion, which happens probably less than once a week. The atheist constantly talking about the idea of god is a rare breed. Much like most christians really think about the idea of god only when they go to church. It's rare to find people who are very obsessive about a single topic. You just think they're everywhere because they are the most vocal and as such, the most noticed.
I think about music far more than I think about the EvC or the AvT debates. Especially during the summer (which is why I've made less than 25 posts here in like 2 months when during school I make well over a hundred per month.
As ot you thing about the pile-on, I can't help it that this board has more atheists than theists and that we all (or many of us, at any rate) like to have our say.

Re: Keeping focused on the OP
A strange thing that so many rare breeds could have arbitrarily come under one roof.
Are you being disengenious here? This is like saying:
"A strange thing that so many hard core zeppelin fanatics could have gathered under one roof [this one roof being the zeppelin message board]".
Why do you think there are quite a few here, NJ? It's not arbitrary, it's not strange. This message board is about the whole EvC (and practically all other debates in the world). Those "rare breeds" have an interest in the debate. And here they have a watering hole.
I mean, sheez, it's like saying, "wow, the desert is empty, but don't you find it odd all the life is at the water?"
Think about NJ. This is a watering hole for people who love to debate, and more specifically, for people who love to debate religion, science, ethics, politics, etc. It's no surprise we attract hardcore atheists and hardcore fundies.

Re: Some Observations
Wow... Well said. I agree. I don't think atheists know in their mind that God exists, but are troubled by what they know in their heart, so that there is this constant tension.
Um, what tension? It troubles me not one iota that there is no god. My heart (the blood pumping, non-thinking dynamo* it is) and my brain are good friends. Except for when my brain thinks it's a good idea to eat food that gives me heart burn (although technically that would be my digestive system and brain disagreeing).
Little presumptuous for you to speak for all atheists, eh? You can speak for your past, but try not to speak for me.
*yes, I know the heart is not a dynamo. dynamo just sounds better than using pump again, or using machine. spice is good (and now my gut is kicking me . . .ow. . . ow. . .ow)
