Re: Question for mods
I think that you would have to tread very carefully. For a start it should be clearly labelled as humour.

Question for people of consciousness
I've returned to this forum after several weeks of absence and discovered it has been taken over by the bicameral mindsets”those who hear godly voices and obey them. Topics are being proposed and discussed that have nothing to do with either natural evolution or religious creationism. Sunday-school topics now seem to prevail. When we have to endure another discussion about the meaning of the Book of John you can be sure that the Voice of God is demanding another hearing. Good grief!
Question: Where have all the people of consciousness gone? Have they fled the pews for higher ground?

In the time that I've been here, I haven't seen any thread dedicated to quote mining members here just for fun. Would I be breaking or pushing any forum guideline by starting one?
So long as you refrained from any potentially callous comments and simply let the quotes speak for themselves...and provided you also post a link to each quote so that they may be examined in context...
and of course your thread may get derailed by the quoted members responses to their own quotes.

quotemine thread

But that would take all the fun out of it.
If it was a humor thread, and everyone knew it was for 'makin fun', the callousness would be less offensive.
It could be fun to take some quotes out of context and make them look funnier than they were intended to be.
Haven't you ever read a post and thought of some great smartass comments that you could put but refrained from it. If we had a thread devoted to it, it could be hilarious.
and of course your thread may get derailed by the quoted members responses to their own quotes.
Yeah, it would hafta be a light-hearted thread.

Salmonella in eggs, just hens?
I read recently that the reason we run the risk of contracting salmonella from raw chicken eggs is because the bacteria is able to pass into a hen's uterus and from there into a developing egg. I was wondering, is this something unique to just hens? Or is it common to all fowl? Even all birds? Is it possible to contract salmonella from eating a platypus egg? Reptiles? Fish??
Is it possible to contract it from human eggs?
Bizarre late night conversationalists want to know!

bible study cover to cover

I was wondering if an admin might make a bump on this thread so that people remember it as it is now halfway through the month.

either direction, really. the admin on duty decided to close it until the appropriate time. that sounds reasonable enough to me, but it's up to you.

On personal attacks against me, and off-topic replies
Well I have just about had with this forum. It seems many people, my last thread is a perfect example, can say what ever they want, at anytime they want.
Everytime I bring up a valid subject, it always turns into the riverrat hates gays thread, which is a total bunch of BS. I do not hate gays, and people pick on me to the point that sooner or later, they can rephrase something I said, to prove that I hate gays, which is just not the case.
I have not brought anything on myself either. I have just stated the truth. If people can't handle the truth, then do not speak with me. Some people actually understand me, so I know it is not me.
If the admins are to do their jobs, then this should just not be tolerated, and anyone going off-topic in that vane, should face an immediate suspension.
I do not hate gays, and I am tired on being accused of it. Those accusers have ruined a perfectly good thread. As if me hating gays (which I don't) has anything to do with death bed conversion.
I have answered those people, because I feel the need to defend myself, if the biased admins are not going to do that for me.

Since this is the short question thread, I have a short question.
Why didn't you post this at the General Discussion Of Moderation Procedures 11.0 thread?

Because I want to be consistent.
BTW, thanks for the harassment.

The Lady Dost Protest Too Much
Rat, I just took a precussory glance through your post history and see that you've been making this same complaint for 3 years.
This is from your OP on the thread "I want one good reason that being gay is ok"
Now before any of you think that I am gay bashing, I will tell you that I do not hate gay people, or dislike them for being gay. I have many gay friends and relatives. I accept them the way they are.
I just do not agree with the act of being gay. Its the act I do not think is ok not the person doing it.
Setting aside the fact that the subject line on the thread is offensive in and of itself, this post (and others you've made for 3 years) shows that despite what you say you hold a deep bias against homosexuals.
Replace the word "gay" with "black" and you'll see what I mean.
"I don't not hate black people. I just disagree with their being black."
People have been explaining to you for 3 years that homosexuality is not a choice. People are born gay, like they are born short or born black. Your arbitrary dislike of this status IS bigotry.
Actually, given the 3 year length of your misunderstanding, and given the history of other anti-gay protestors, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you've had no less than 4 homosexual encounters over those three year.
Why else would this issue STILL be such a thorn in your side.
BTW, if you truly don't hate gay people, you really shouldn't be offended by the fact that I just puzzled out your secret.

Re: On personal attacks against me, and off-topic replies
You're missing the point. This is a "short question" thread, as in, "What's the value of pi?" "3.14159" "Thanks!" There's a discussion of your very issue already going on over at the General Discussion Of Moderation Procedures 11.0 thread. Nuggin should repost his reply to you over there. This thread isn't for discussion.
