Re: Copyright protection
Whilst IANAL and YMMV, the simple answer is that copyright certainly does apply to postings on the internet. It might be difficult to do much about infringements, but it is not impossible. Another website I frequented had this problem, and after consulting relevant legal people, came to the conclusion that the posts made by the users were the isers' intellectual property.

Re: Any YHWH discussion links.
YHWH, Yahweh, Jehovah, adonai, lord, elohim, god, allah, Allah thread. should be a good start. Try hunting around here if that one isn't to your tastes. There is constant debate here about the name - not always strictly on topic.

Salmonella in eggs, just hens?
I read recently that the reason we run the risk of contracting salmonella from raw chicken eggs is because the bacteria is able to pass into a hen's uterus and from there into a developing egg. I was wondering, is this something unique to just hens? Or is it common to all fowl? Even all birds? Is it possible to contract salmonella from eating a platypus egg? Reptiles? Fish??
Is it possible to contract it from human eggs?
Bizarre late night conversationalists want to know!

Re: Science Blogs
The Science Blogs icon has added itself to my EvC bookmark. Is this a just a malfunction on my computer, or is EvC becoming part of Science Blogs?
This happened to me - I think it's a just a bug in firefox. It's been like that for a year now. Haven't tried to get rid of it, and I've just got used to it
