I read recently that the reason we run the risk of contracting salmonella from raw chicken eggs is because the bacteria is able to pass into a hen's uterus and from there into a developing egg. I was wondering, is this something unique to just hens? Or is it common to all fowl? Even all birds? Is it possible to contract salmonella from eating a platypus egg? Reptiles? Fish??
Is it possible to contract it from human eggs?
