Soapbox
Agreed. "Showcase" makes it sound as though the moderators are proud of the level of reasoning displayed on those threads.

I too feel a strange urge to post on the "Great Pyramid" thread.

Showcase access granted to Kuresu and Jonicus Maximus.
As Cheops once remarked, that looks rather pointed.
Please, pretty please can I post on Herepton's pyramid thread?
Look, he just said that Sirius "cannot be seen with the naked eye".
It is of course the brightest star in the night sky.
Someone ought to tell him.

Re: The other star called Sirius
He's talking, whether he knows it or not, about Sirius B.
He doesn't know it.
I bet he also doesn't know that the existence of Sirius B was discovered in 1844; that it was first observed in 1862; and that the first evidence that the Dogon knew of its existence comes from a paper published in 1950.

Is there any chance you could re-open the Great Pyramid thread? C.F.O. listed it as one of his top six evidences for Creationism, and challenged me to debate him on the subject of my choice. Rather than start a new thread, it seems reasonable to re-activate the old one.
