Re: brenna's suspension
i'm really suggesting that people stop giving me shit for my stylistic decisions. i don't bother anyone else for theirs. and i rarely even bother to correct peoples' poor grammar. my typeface has been approved by the board administrator and that should be that.

i'm not going to capitalize my posts, get better eyes.

Re: To AdminPD regarding the "ramifications of omnipotence for God" thread
Here's a thought: Keep out of it. You had nothing to contribute and your comment was vague at best.
Rrhain,
AdminPD doesn't have to keep out of anything, ever, here at EvC. Not only is she is a moderator, but this is a public forum. Her function is to moderate, and in my estimation, she is one of the best.
Your sardonic tone is what tends to inflame most of the controversies that surrounds you. The overarching point is that you seem to be the common denominator here. So rather than tacitly asserting that everyone else is either crazy or unduly persecuting you, perhaps it would be more prudent to recognize your own shortcomings as opposed to asking for some kind of special dispensation.
Please find a more constructive way to voice your concerns.

Re: brenna's suspension
3 hours after the fact by a different moderator and grudgingly, from my reading of the related post.
That would have been me. As a point of clarification, the suspension was "grudging" because I didn't feel either post particularly warranted a suspension - or if one did, then both should have been simultaneous. It was unfortunate that I found myself in a position of trying to second guess another admin. It was in the interests of fairness that I suspended mark24. I had no other issue at that point.
As to the 3-hour timelag. Many regrets, brenna, but not all of us spend our entire lives 24/7 on this board. I know that might be something of a shock to you, but there it is. I acted within minutes of finding out that you had been suspended.
So much for trying to be a nice guy...

EvC Forum: Murchison Meteor Questions
Adminbuzz:
Regarding your concerns about Crashfrog his remarks are what afforded the opportunity for you to counter his argument with your own cogent question to him.
You're right of course. Don't know what I was thinking....
AdminBuzz:
At this point I see no need of admin action but will continue to monitor so far as behavior relative to all participants.
That's a good idea...

Re: brenna's suspension
I simply didn't think that it was a suspendable offense
You know, AdminQ warned that any more posts in that thread that did not further discussion would warrant suspension.
The point of his statement, as I understood it, was to limit any more flaming by telling everyone that any unproductive post would cause a suspension.
You read his post.
especially after AdminQuetzal has issued a warning
http://EvC Forum: People - I /was/ a Christian -->EvC Forum: People - I /was/ a Christian.
You should have suspended both at the same time if you were going to suspend one.

Irony
Just thought I'd note that the discussion of Brenna's suspension has endured longer than the suspension itself.

Hi Mark,
You might want to investigate the tag, less taxing on the mind.

As requested in Message 99, I would still like an explanation of why I was suspended.

Why I suspended Jar
Thank you for starting the new topic, Moderation Procedures to level the playing field. Had you done such when I suggested such back in message 89 a lot of trouble could have been avoided.
I offhand have little to say on the matter of the suspension, beyond what I said at the "Suspensions and Bannings Part II" topic.
One thing I will say, it that it is my impression that you rather blatantly quote mined my message 89, in your message 99. You focused in on one sentence and disregarded what was said on either side.

While you might think that, I followed your Dictum. I did not discuss the issue you proscribed and asked what I felt was a pertinent question, one you still have not answered. In addition, what you said in the suspension thread:
I asked Jar to take a specialized moderation issue to a new specialized topic. He chose to refuse the request and thus continued to contribute to the disruption of the topic.
is blatantly false.
So once again, was there a reason for my suspension?

Re: Why I suspended Jar
Jar writes:

is blatantly false.
Adminnemooseus, in message 89, writes:
Some variation of it, however, has become your your standard message in this topic, more or less repeated whenever someone of the evolution side is suspended. Yes, the uneven or seeming uneven moderation treatment of evolutionists and creationists is a reality in this forum. And yes, it should be discussed.
But I think it merits its own topic in the Suggestions and Questions forum. This is because it is such a specialized issue AND because it is a distraction from the discussion of other moderation issues.
So, please do start a new "Uneven Moderation of Evolutionists and Creationists" topic. If you can come up with a better title, go for it.
Had you started the new topic then, per my suggestion, the suspension and all the Jar / Adminnemooseus discussion between that message 89 and this current message would not have happened. Instead you chose to argue that the theme now in the new topic did belong in this topic. And etc.

I'm sorry but can you show me where I continued to argue that the theme now in the new topic belonged in this topic?
After your Dictum in Message 89 I posted two messages in this thread, Message 90 and Message 92. Where in those two messages did I discuss the proscribed issue? You don't have to answer that because the fact is, I did not continue discussing the issue.
As to creating the new PNT, I fear it actually takes me a while to get the wording the way I want. I'm sorry if I do not work fast enough to suit your standards.
