Why do you disagree with the Bible on this issue ?
(see Exodus 11:9-10 and similar verses in earlier chapters).

SO lets get this straight. After initially disagreeing weith the Bible you have now decided that after all God did make Pharoah refuse to let the Israelites go. However you excuse this by saying that God knew with absolute certainty that the Pharoah would have done it anyway.
Of course, the whole point of doing it is that God did NOT know that the Pharoah would keep the Israelites in Egypt and God WANTED the Pharoah to keep the Israelites in Egypt. If the Pharoah was aboslutely certain to do what God wanted anyway there's no point in God doing it. Are you really suggesting that God is too stupid to realise that ?

Actually I didn't like it. It says that you started this thread to lecture and you do not want better-informed people pointing out your mistakes.

I do not see that I disagreed with the Bible
Then go reread Message 39
And let us add that you still seem to be contradicting the Bible. In Exodus God does not give Pharoah the chance gto let the Israelites go. He does not give the Pharoah a way out - in fact he iontnetionally stops the Pharoah from choosing the way out. And He does it because he wants to demonstrate his power by inflicting misery, suffering and death on the Egyptians. You may not like this - it may contradict your beliefs but it is what the Bible says.
If the Bible is truly the Word of God then it is above your opinions, it is even above the teachings and doctrines of your Church. I hope that one day you recognise this fact - in deed, as well as word.

I would not be so blunt, but Rahvin is right. It isn't complicated. Exodus says that God wanted the Pharaoh to keep the Israelites prisoner so that he had a pretext to send the plagues - to demonstrate His power. So he hardened the Pharaoh's heart to make sure that that was what happened.
The complications come in when you try to square that with your ideas of God - you can't believe that God would do as the Bible says.
But there's no need to worry about that. The Exodus is legend, not history. Whatever really happened was quite different.
