Poor Satan, so misunderstood.
Genesis indicates that to know God we must study and know good and evil. After all, this is why God gave us the tree of good and evil.
Scripture also indicates that all of God’s works are Perfect. This makes Satan Perfect to accomplish the work of helping us learn of good and evil.
Job tells us that Satan is in the complete control of God. Doing His bidding at all times.
Since Satan is the only angel who has been given free access to man, we should recognize that He is above the other angels.
One could say that He works more directly with God than all the other angels. God’s number one angel.
Why then do most absolutely hate this Satan. He is closer to God than any of us. He at least know half of the good and evil that we live with.
Should we not do as scripture indicates we should do and hate sin while loving the sinner. Or in this case love the one who is causing us to sin at God’s urging?
Should we love Satan?
Regards
DL

Re: The Adversary
If he is truly doing the work of God And God has never lost the Perfection of His beginning then we will all share Heaven with Satan. We will all recognize his greatness as God's right hand man.
If God's works are to remain Perfect then this must be the way.
Evil is that important to our growth.

I agree that Satan is a catch all name for all the evils we perceive.
Like the word God, Satan is a title, not a name.

If he is misunderstood then he should be a welcome presence.
After all, he is here to teach us of God.

If God is truly in control of Satan then his appearance in the garden was sanctioned by God. No preemptive strike.
One must then wonder why He would pit a powerful supernatural angel against an innocent girl who knew nothing of good and evil.
To send her in the proper direction perhaps.

Satan is good.
Consider that all of God's works are Perfect according to scripture.
This must mean that Satan also is Perfect for the role God gave Him.
Job shows that God is in control of Satan at all times.
God then must take responsibility for any and all evil on the earth.
Without this gift of evil we could not know God.
This would be a shame.
Let us thank God for evil then and embrace any knowledge that it gives. This should be our position.

I believe that the name Satan is only a catch all name for evil thoughts and notions and deeds.
Like God is a title, so is Satan.
Placing him under God is not the same as elevating him to the same level as God.
God defines evil, not a Satan.

"Christ came and did destroy the works of the devil especially within them who believe and trust themselves to Jesus:"
Evil exists in all men. Satan is alive and well.
Jesus was not a destroyer, He was a builder.
To think that Jesus took over our responsibility for sin and forgave them all is false.
To think that His way is the only way is also false.
There are many roads to Heaven if God maintains His ability to create Perfect souls.

Strange that some think that God created Satan just to have Jesus-God, kill him later.
Not the way God usually works. Especially for an angel that has worked harder for God than other angels. Satan should be glorified not ostracized for His ability to do God's bidding.
Some also would destroy the tree of good and evil and make it impossible for us to be like God's, knowing good and evil.
Man did not fall but with the help and guidance of Eve jumped into the job given to us by God in the beginning.
Reproduce and learn of good and evil.
We do both well throughout history and this is why God allows things to continue in their proper way. If it were not then He would change things.
The world is Perfect as are all of God's works. Let us recognize it.

Re: Alive but not well
You did a lot of Bible thumping here but the question I would ask is, why would God create a Satan at one point in time just to kill it at another?
A rather useless exercise.
If we have evil among us then God is the creator of this evil.
If all of His works are Perfect as scripture indicates then this evil is also Perfect. Why destroy it. If we did then the tree of knowledge is also destroyed. God has declared this tree to be good.
How ignorant do you want us to be? How many of God's Perfect works should we discard as useless?

Re: Satan is good.
I would suggest that most people do not understand religion.
To think that any one religion is the holder of the one true God is foolish.
God is a God of inclusion, not exclusion.
When He creates souls, He plans to save all of His Perfect works, not just a select few.
Those who believe that their religion is --the one--, are due for a rude awakening.

God is perfect.
He makes all souls and angels, if you believe in angels, perfect.
Satan represents all evils and all woes. He too is perfect.
To love a sinner or Satan, we are asked to recognize the perfection of his soul.
To love all evil is to be told that they are a requirement for us to know the mind of God.
Genesis is clear on us needing the knowledge of good and evil in order to know God.
Job clearly shows that God controls evil.
Satan then by showing us evil is moving us towards God.
This makes him God’ right hand man and a necessary part of creation.
Satan was in the garden when God pronounced that it was good.
Satan is good according to scripture.
Loving Satan is the same as loving all sinners, as we are all.
We must love each other. A standard of Christian faith.
Should we love all that God gave us as a start in the Garden? Yes.
This includes the good serpent and the tree of knowledge of evil.
Without them we cannot know God.
Without them we are no smarter than cows, not knowing much of anything.
Regards
DL
