Re: Bible predicts blockage.
How does a star colapse in upon itself? If you could please explain. The text doesn't say where they will fall, only that they will, perhaps they will fall towards the center. But I'm not the Creator of the universe. Furthermore everything in space is in a constant state of freefall....Our planet is constantly falling around our sun, our moon is constanly falling around our planet....I don't know that I can answer your question with any degree of certainty, but I'm sure it will be an awsome spectical to watch! I can't wait. Get the popcorn ready.

Well, I'm not an expert in classical Greek, but I doubt that the ancient Greek word used for fall in the old Gospel texts had this sense.

Re: Bible predicts blockage.
Again you missunderstand the essence of God Almighty, the being that called the universe (and all the laws of physics therein) into existance by the Words of His mouth. There is no 'magic' involved, He created the Laws of the universe, and the universe itself, He is not bound by them, nor is He under their restraining power. We are, and the universe is, but He is not. You have absolutly no concept of what omnipotence is. It means ALL POWERFUL. Absolutly nothing, not even the laws He established to govern the universe, will stand against Him, they will ALL bow down and serve His will. So because, accourding to you, if it was created supernaturaly to function within the physical laws of the universe, which where established by the same Creator, it must therefore be unscientific? How then, if the universe was created suppernaturaly, can anything be scientific? Which law was established first in the Big Bang cosmology, the law of gravity, or the 1st law of thermodynamics? And what power did nothing have to establish these laws? If nothing (the absolute lack of anything, void, zero, zilch, zip, nada) can, accourding to science, create a universe from nothing by nothing, how much more, or less, can an All Powerful, omnipotent force of supernatural power, God, do?
Young's literal translation Colossians writes:
1:15 [Jesus] Who is the Image of the Invisible God, First-born of all creation,
1:16 because in Him were the all things created, those in the heavens, and those upon the earth, those visible, and those invisible, whether thrones, whether lordships, whether principalities, whether authorities; all things through Him, and for Him, have been created,
1:17 and Himself is before all, and all things in Him have consisted.
1: Throne- Seat of power, soveriegnty over authorities and the law.
2: Lordship- Rank of dignaty, authority or power of a lord.
3: Principality- state office or authority, dominion, domain of jurisdiction
4: Authority- power to influence or command
5: consisted- existed

Qur'an and Science
Did you guys know there is a lot of science in the Quran - which there is no way it could have been known in the 14th century, see the links below:
A Brief Illustrated Guide To Understanding Islam, Muslims, and the Quran

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_u5bkXHuJE
Did you guys know these miracles in the Quran have been confirmed by top scientists:
A Brief Illustrated Guide To Understanding Islam, Muslims, and the Quran
Did you guys know that there is not a single contradiction in quran against establibshed modern science, this is proven by a french scientist named Maurice Bucaille in his book "The Bible, Quran and Science: Holy Scriptures Examined in the Light of Modern Knowledge"
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bible-Quran-Science-Scriptures-Knowledge...
Did you guys know that the Quran gives us a falsefication test, that if you can find a single contradiction from it, this is enough to say that it is not from the lord of the worlds, because he cannot make a mistake?

Re: Bible predicts blockage.
So certain are you? Hmm? What the Creator of the universe ment when these words He uttered.
Ambiguous- capable of being understood in two or more possible senses or ways.
Young's Literal translation, Genesis writes:
1:14 And God saith, `Let luminaries be in the expanse of the heavens, to make a separation between the day and the night, then they have been for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years,
1:15 and they have been for luminaries in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth:' and it is so.
1:16 And God maketh the two great luminaries, the great luminary for the rule of the day, and the small luminary -- and the stars -- for the rule of the night;
1:17 and God giveth them in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth,
1:18 and to rule over day and over night, and to make a separation between the light and the darkness; and God seeth that [it is] good;
1:19 and there is an evening, and there is a morning -- day fourth.
He says He created them in one day, I'm fairly certain He can destroy them in one day.

Yes, I'm fairly certain that this sense of the word fall didn't occur until Galileo's work in the 16th century CE.

Re: Bible predicts blockage.
So, there is absolutely no way, in your mind, that the Creator of the universe, and all the laws which govern it, (who existed long before the universe was ever created) could possibly know this; because Galileo (who took clues from the Bible) didn't come up with the idea untill 16 hundred years later? How do you know what sense of the word fall the Creator of the universe was or was not using?

No, I'm just pointing out that the word used did not have the meaning that you are claiming that it did.
-
How do you know what sense of the word fall the Creator of the universe was or was not using?
Well, assuming for the sake of argument that there is a creator and that this creator actually wrote those words, then I would also assume that the words weren't meant for physicists who lived after the 16th century. I would assume that the words were meant for a much larger audience who have had a definite idea of what fall means.
I mean, honestly, do you think that this so-called creator is in the habit of writing in an obscure way that the majority of people in history would not have understood? Do you really think that this creator intended that no one would understand its writings until you finally came along? That's the family sized box of hubris[/i], it seems to me.

Re: Bible predicts Satalite TV and internet shopping?
If you're so good at reading the sense of what the author of something is or is not tring to say even when He only says the word once. I give you five uses of the word Earth, tell me if can get the sense in which the author is using the word.
Young's literal translation, Revelation 11 writes:
2 But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. 3 And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth." 4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. 5 If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die. 6 These men have power to shut up the sky so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.
7 Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them. 8 Their bodies will lie in the street of the great city, which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. 9 For three and a half days men from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial. 10 The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.
11 But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. 12 Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on.
How many people here bought Christmas gifts online and had them delivered directly to their recipiants?

Let's resolve this "collapsing star" nonsense first.
I give you five uses of the word Earth, tell me if can get the sense in which the author is using the word.
I have no idea what this has to do with stars collapsing. Look, the audience for which the "falling stars" passage was written, 1st century Christians and perhaps Christians thereafter, would have interpreted the word "fall" in one way -- to mean something that was in the air or in the heavens rushing downward and hitting the ground (our ground, the earth) at a high speed. This is how they would have interpreted it, and this is the way they have always interpreted it...until you came along talking about collapsing stars.
Now if God "wrote" a passage about collapsing stars knowing full well that people would think that he was writing about things falling to the ground, then he was being deliberately misleading. That is pretty much the definition of a lie -- to deliberately say something (or omit saying something) so that people will be misled into an incorrect belief.
-
How many people here bought Christmas gifts online and had them delivered directly to their recipiants?
Now you're changing the subject? I don't blame you, seeing how embarrassing the "collapsing star" nonsense must be.

Of course it does, just as the various Christian Bibles do, the Vedas, the Tanakh, the writing of Mencius, Confucius, Norse mythology and just about every other religious writing.

Immigration has been a problem Since 1607!

Do the answers to those questions have any bearing on whether or not the Qur'an is the true message from God?
