Hi -- I distinctly see a human on top of the mammoth painting in the Chauvet cave. I have made a webpage about it. I would like your opinions:

Me, I'd be surprised if you had a bona fide rider there.
That said, I think there is a good case to be made that we have had a hitherto truncated view of human technical developement. I am tangentially familiar with Marija Gimbutas work, and would recommend to you the following:
Rudgley, R. Lost Civilisations Of The Stone Age, Century (London),
1998 by Peter Hiscock & Mark Newbrook.
Please note this is not the place to go for conspiracy theories involving Lemuria. Rudgley, despiate the rather sensationalist title, makes a serious argument that we can push technical behaviour in humans back by substantial margins. It may support, or refute, your theory - but I think it would be worth a read.
